Hi, I’m reaching out for a friend of mine’s mother who is elderly and needs money to pay her rent. He is on Social Security income and is currently trying to get SSDI, receive SNAP and is on Medicaid and Medicare, but is facing homelessness. She received a notice from her apartment complex today that she has 30 days to vacate for nonpayment. I am trying to find resources for someone in her situation in the Bexar County San Antonio, Texas area. Thank you for any help that you may be able to offer.

Hello, my name is Fonda and I am trying to move out of San Angelo and get closer to my sister in San Antonio. We are all we have left out of a family of 7, the last to pass unexpectedly was our father in September. Our mother past in 1983 and we lost our 3 brothers in between. To make matters worse my husband left me on my birthday 2 days after I buried my father.
We talked on the phone the 3.5 hours drive for me and left as soon as I got into the city limits. He stopped making payments on the house and disconnected the water. I have applied for disability and was denied the first round. Snap has denied me because my husband still has mail coming here so they think he lives here and wants all this info that he is not going to give out, especially if it helps me. I just was wondering if yall could help me get moved to and maybe into a house in San Antonio and help with the initial rent. I have worked my entire life up to a year and a half ago. Any assistance for the rent in San Antonio is of course greatly appreciated. I am serious I can’t make this stuff up, lol. Please let me know sooner than later. I don’t know how long I will be here before I get kicked out. Thank you so much

There are many places in San Antonio and Bexar County that help with housing needs, rent, etc. However single moms may get some prioirty, there is no guarantee as they will help. As single mothers may need help, but also the sick, elderly, etc. As they all are a focus, right? I am a single mother in San Antonio, TX. I am having a very difficult time making ends meet and need some help with my rent. Are there any programs that will help a single mom with housing costs in San Antonio? Even though I have a career and a degree, I cannot survive on the income I have. I need some help but also an opportunity to go back to school so I can pursue a higher paying career in the future. I am scared because my lease in running out in July and I do not have anywhere for my children and I to go here. I am praying and hoping that by some miracle I will be able to stay in my current rental house. If there is any help you may be able to provide to a hard working single mothers, it would be a blessing and I would be so grateful.

If you have a kid, are pregnant again, and sill need rent help and other aid, that is a bad combo. You need to make a drastic change in your decisions and life. But as far as the rent payment help itself, look here for resources for San Antonio.

My family is getting evicted from our house in San Antonio and we only have until January 1, 2017. We pay our rent everyday month and the Realtor has no reason to evict us. They have had no problems since we moved in. The reason we are being evicted is they said my wife lied on the application. That is the only reason.
Well maybe my wife did but that is not because to evict. Especially when rent is paid, they have had no problems of any kind since we moved in. If someone would just give us a call so my wife can explain further, but call after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday 6th of October.

Does anyone know of any place that helps with rental assistance in San Antonio Texas that is taking applicants? I have tried Sam ministries and catholic charities and many others. They all tell me to call back at the end of July because their appointments are all full. I have been in my apt for 5 years and never paid my rent late. But I lost my job and unemployment has not been extended and I have also been medically disabled. I need help this month and assistance would be appreciated. Thank you and god bless!
