The Salvation army often has transitional housing programs. Other charities may operate them too. Find there here.

they generally will help someone move from say a shelter to a more short term lodging, providing goals are met around employment, doing "tasks" or chores to keep the center clean and operational, saving and budgeting and more.

My boyfriend and I are looking for an apartment in Waukesha County. We both have bad credit and we both just started a New job in November 2016. He is staying at the Salvation Army. We are being denied apartments because of our credit. We Don’t know who to go to for help. He is not going to be able to stay at Salvation Army much longer and will be
Homeless. Please help us! Thank you,
