Hello, my name is Ashley. How is it that when I get on your website looking for a bus ticket, I get the attached picture, but when I call my local Salvation Army, they tell me they cannot help me get a greyhound voucher? I am a disabled person on disability and need help getting to a family member in Indianapolis, Indiana, who is dying, and all I get is no help.
I am the type of person who does not ask for help, even when I need it, and all I get is, “Sorry, we cannot help.” I would appreciate it if you could get some help.

My name is Jordan. I have been out of work and not able to afford bus passes. I start work on the 11th. I'm short the $400 I need for rent on the 15th. Is there anything you can do to help me with a bus pass to my job so I can make money to pay the rent? The shelters are full and I do not have friends or family here. It's just me and Jesus. I have attached my job schedule.. I get paid weekly. Please help me. I don't want to lose my place to stay.

Hi,
I recently lost my job because my car was repossessed so now I need a way to interview and get to work and hoping for bus tickets. I live miles out of town and need a job to pay my bills and the bus will help me get to town. Can you help me? I have an MBA. I see there are writing jobs available. I love to write, proofread, edit, etc.
I will take anything right now. I really need help, please.

To Whom It May Concern,
I was just informed today by my sister in San Diego, that our mother has been referred to Hospice and is looking at two weeks left to live. I have my last unemployment check for $211 coming in tomorrow. My Greyhound Buss ticket will cost me $166 to get from Portland Oregon to San Diego. I'm worried about getting back home afterwards. Is there anyway that you could help me with this?
As I don't think that I will be having the time to check my emails during this time.

Maybe Catholic Charities in NYC offers greyhound bus tickets. Maybe a voucher, discounted tickets, or some other assistance. Try them for help, and more on Catholic Charities assistance programs.

Homeless, in desperate need of help making car payment and insurance before our car is repossessed. If we loss it then we need a bus ticket to get out of town! Laid off due to a seizure, reaching out to any and all resources in this DESPERATE time of need. If our car is lost we will have absolutely no place to stay or any transportation. That is why the bus ticket is needed, but no money to pay for it. No family or friends who can help, we pray that someone can help us in our crisis. Please.

Well, we can't help you pay for it. But some companies, such as Greyhound, may have an assistance program for you. It may be able to get you to where you need to go. Find more details here. Locate free bus passes for you and your family.

I just came down here from California with a cousin about two days ago and now I'm stranded trying to get back to California. As of tomorrow I will be at the greyhound station in Jackson Mississippi because I don't have the funds to pay for a bus ticket to get back home and was trying to see how I can get some type of assistance.
Also my phone is off so that's why I'm emailing you guys. I just want to get back home that's all I wasn't aware that I was going to ride back with her to Mississippi to make sure she made it home safe and not have a way back so if you can please help I would gladly appreciate it. Thank you again.

There are some free transportation programs, most of which offer gasoline vouchers, rides from volunteers, or the like. But a bus pass might be offered too. They do tend to focus on interviews like you said....as there needs to be a purpose for them. Also, rather than living on the streets, try a homeless shelter.

Re: Bus ticket vouchers

Hi, I need help really badly. Life is hard and it’s what to do. I'm 20 years old, and need a voucher to pay for the bus to move. I never had a father or mother. My dad is in jail for life and it’s been that way since I was born. My mom is on drugs since I was born and I was taken into foster care at 4 months old. I have been in foster care my whole life. I am from Long beach CA.
On December 21 my son was born. I had everything in my life with him. He was my only happiness in my whole life. My baby's mother shook him and dropped him while I was at work. He passed away of a brain hemorrhage. Life is unbearable.
I grabbed the only money I had and came to Ohio in hope of a fresh start. But now its 25 degrees here and I'm bouncing back and forth between houses trying to eat and I have no money or clean clothes. I pray for a miracle but it doesn't seem to get better. My only chance is to get a bus voucher to go to Las Vegas at the Oasis apartments so that I can stay with my best friend who said I can stay with her and she'll help me get a job and stabilize myself. I'm crying because its what to do.

Hi, I came here on a visit and to try to get a job. Now I'm stranded and need a bus ticket to get back home to my family back in South Carolina. Is it anyway Salvation Army can please help me? My phone is even off and I'm using Wi-Fi but someone told me to contact Salvation Army or St. Vincent for a free ticket. I live in Belton, MO.

Hi, I am in need of help with a 30 day bus pass. I usually can afford to get my own. But for the last 6 weeks my boss put me on schedule for 10 hours a week and it cut my finances deeply over more than half and my food stamps went down also. But my bills have gone up due to the rising heat.
So I am going through a lot with job searching, begging for more hours but Transportation and local vouchers is lacking. If she gave me more hours how do I get to work if I can't afford transportation? I have to catch up on my bills also. My heart is heavy. This is the first time I have been on my own in quite a long time I am also going through a divorce. I need help from a bus voucher. It is vital to maintain home so I stay an asset to my community. Thank you.

That is a tough one. Maybe for a bus token try Saint Vincent De Paul. Rarely they will have them. Or maybe a volunteer from that organization will give you a free ride instead for that job interview you have. Find transportation services from St. Vincent.

Free Bus Tickets/Passes

I am a homeless veteran who resides at the Michigan Veterans Foundation/Detroit Veterans Center (transitional housing facility/homeless shelter) in Detroit, Michigan. I would like to learn if there are any resources allow receiving free bus tickets (DOT/Smart) to support job search activity (interviews/getting to & from work). I currently have no income and am trying to establish an income. I received a notification/invitation today to attend an interview; however, I have no way to get there.

Not sure if this is a joke or not, and not sure why we are replying, but the Salvation Army will sometimes have vouchers for bus tickets or transportation. I highly doubt they will give you one for that reason though, when so many other people in Riverside California are suffering and need rides for work, job interviews, etc. But you can try the Salvation Army. More details are here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... assis.html
