Re: Need money for dentures so I can get a job

Post by Admin - Jon McNamara »

Hi Kristina and other person who need dentures or help paying for them. Medicaid does cover them for work reasons in most states, or at least partial dentures or for front teeth. So look into that program. Also try a clinic but there are other resources too that help pay for dentures.

Hi, my name is Kristina. I've been searching everywhere with help paying for dental work. I've been miserable with horrible toothaches and infections from my teeth that I can't barley sleep at night or even eat. I need money to pay for the dentures or some way to get them. I'm a 27 year old mother of 3 beautiful children and ever since covid-19 my husband's job was taken leaving us on unemployment and we're on medical assistance which doesn't cover anything dental wise for adults over 21 unless pregnant. So I've been so depressed as I can't get a job either without dentures or fake teeth. I'd be happy with dentures just so I can be out of pain and be able to eat again. If you have any ideas on who ever could help me with the money I'd be so EXTREMELY GRATEFUL and appreciative! Thank you very much.

Need money for dentures so I can get a job

Post by Newday »

I am at a loss, and 2 years ago, I spent over 5,000 on an upper and lower denture that never fit me correctly. The Chaska clinic kept trying to charge me lab fees each time they adjusted it until I finally spoke disrespectfully out of the money I had given them and not having teeth that they refused to see me. I owe my step-mom over 5,000.
I have been without teeth since 2021 (3 years I guess). The lack of teeth, and the hot to my self-esteem not to mention discrimination from employers, is holding me back from getting a job. I cannot afford any of the costs because I do not leave my house because I do not have a single tooth in my mouth, I am very ugly and I feel unemployable.
I sit at home all day and try to find resources; I don't see many. I don't feel right going to an interview without teeth, and often I feel so hopeless I just sleep, to be honest. The lack of teeth, and the dentures to cover my mouth, is holding me back from so much in life. I am so much stress because my stomach hurts terribly from not chewing my food. Any suggestions?

If the dentures do not fit, and your income is very low (on Medicaid), some states provide free dentures through the local Medicaid program. Or maybe front teeth or dentures for a job. Find details here on government free denture programs.

Hello,
I am in desperate need of dentures and unfortunately live on SSI as I am a disabled 43 year old white female. I'm having some difficulty finding any kind of help in Jasper, Alabama 35501. This is Walker county in Alabama. I do not have transportation so finding a ride to UAB charity dental or dental school is impossible to stand in long lines and find someone to give me a ride and then wait for me all day. The dentures I have now do not fit me. I have little resources and not having any teeth is effecting my health dangerously severe. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Sounds like the families / patients here are on Medicaid. There are free dentures programs, from each state (that offers Medicaid) as well as dentists and clinics. Partial and full dentures are available, and look here for free dentures from government Medicaid.

I need dentures. I have been taking medicine that has caused my teeth to fall out. I have been trying to get it fixed but I can't afford thousands of dollars in dental work. I am a single mother of 2 and I don’t smile because of the damage to my teeth. I have Huntington's disease and over the last 7 years I have been taking 13 different medicines to deal with symptoms. I was able to get into a clinical trial for HD. Thankfully the medicine I received in the trial I feel saved my life but caused me teeth to fall out – those dentures. I am symptom free. It has been at a great personal lose because the medicine weakened the enamel and over time it is gone. I just want to be able to eat, smile and feel pretty. I shy away from pictures. I have lost a lot of weight. I am hoping that you could help me get my life back. I want to smile like I did in the Marines. I don't want to go another day with someone saying that I look mad. I am 42 years old, need dentures and I want to be the mom I used to be. Thank you for any help that you can give me.

Dental work can be free at clinics, but as far as dentures, those tend to be harder to get. But you can look into a clinic. Maybe a volunteer dentists too. Some may ask for a "small" donation, but the dental clinics will still probably be your best option. Find details here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... inics.html

Good Evening, my name is Florence. I'm 57, I'm on SSI and in need of dental work or dentures. I live in Enterprise, Alabama. I'm also a widow, my husband of 33 years passed away on April 2020. I worked for the Department of Defense, as a Civilian Employee in Germany for 20 years.
I have been disabled since 2009 when I had to have both of my knees replaced due to arthritis. I have been under Medicare since 2012. When my husband was still alive I fell under hi Dental Insurance. I have not been to the Dentist since 2015, I had the front of a tooth literally fall off last weekend. I have several holes in my mouth that the dentures could replace. The doctor who replaced my knees, Dr. Farris, told me that I could not have any holes in my mouth because the decay could get in and somehow get to the metal in my knee and cause infection and could kill me. I also had two heart stints put in in 2017.
I'm currently under Hospice care because of my heart. I get my late husbands pension and my monthly disability. But right now my bank account is overdrawn and we have had our water and lights turned off this past February and March and we're having to pawn things just to buy food.
But I make too much money to get Medicare and food stamps. Please help me.

An unexpected bill in the amount of 204.00 will be deducted for my dentures when I get paid the first of the month of August. I live on a fixed income. I need 200.00 to be able to pay for the dentures or some form of payment plan. If I could get the 200.00 to pay that bill, then I will have enough to pay my rent at my new place. Please let me know if you can help with paying for my dentures or find a solution for them. Thanks very much, Marcia

Teeth extractions/new dentures. I have an infection and am an emergency case don't have enough money to get what I need done. Aspen dental quoted me 4,100 last year so in a year I had 10 teeth pulled to lower cost and got not proper fitted dentures. I just went back now they want 4,800, or 700 more than quoted last year. When I have ten less teeth. I'M SCARED MY INFECTION WILL SPREAD AND I CANT BELIEVE THEY CAN DO THAT TO NOT ONLY ME BUT TO ANYONE.

Dentures do not fit

Post by MrsJasnen »

I am in desperate need of dental work, I've had my dentures for 22 years, they now don't fit at all and I have constant blisters. I can't even eat with them in. Every dentist I have contacted require upfront payment of $3000 to $ 5000. I don't have this, on disability, no dental insurance. They keep suggesting I get the care credit card which I don't qualify for. Just looking for help.

Hello,
I am a 66 year old widow in desperate need of dentures. I have called several dental offices and two of them have suggested that I contact the Agency on Aging.
Is there any sort of assistance available in that area? Do you have any other recommendations?
Thank you in advance for any help that may be available.

My husband + I live in Boston, MA with our oldest daughter (23 years). He's been unemployed for almost 2 years. We barely make ends meet with a small pension, some food stamps + food pantry visits. He is 61, I'm 55.
I have been ill for some time + am now in need of dentures. We no longer have a car, relying on our 23 year old daughter to take me to multiple MD visits on her 1 day off each week. Need great help with medical bills, dentures, food + transportation. Is there any help?? Any would be appreciated.
Thank you.

So let us get this right. You want go to a dental clinic in Maryland because in your opinion someone is rude? Even though they are willing to help you, probably on their own time? Your reasoning is very unfortunate. You are asking for help, and have you ever heard the saying "beggars can't be choosers". Anyway, good luck to you, but much much we can do other than refer you to other clinics in the region, and find dental clinics in Maryland.

I live in Worcester County in MD. I need dentures. I am on SSDI. The only proposed option here is a place called Four Lower Counties Dental Clinic. I've been there before. They are rude, want me to pay like $500 IN ADVANCE, and apartments are anyway from 6 to 8 months apart!
Can you refer me to another place for dentures free or less the $500. I need both lower and upper. Again I am on a fixed income of SSDI.
Please help me. My roommate; his dentures are broken and they want $200 to fix them. And he currently on gets $186 a month from Social Services.

Call 211 and ask if there are any local dentist that will work with you. You may not get implants due to the costs but maybe a new set of dentures will work for you. You can also google low cost dentist in your area. If you are a vet try your local VA they may help.
