Is there some type of assistance to temporarily help families with mortgage and bill payments and medical bills? My finance has had to miss a lot of work and be hospitalized for tonsillitis and is supposed to have surgery. He is our soul income and we have 4 kids. We are struggling with regular bills with him being sick, and now we owe money on a mound of medical bills too. We have already contacted LIHEAP and general assistance in our county for money. However, we need assistance with mortgage payments for a few months, and with the medical bills and those places don't help with that. Also, they can only help with a limited number of bills and because of the health issue we are in need of assistance for a couple of more months. We live in Washington, Iowa. Washington county.
