Hi Diana
We do have a list of rent and housing programs for Colorado Springs - El Paso County. As you mentioned, the demand for any apartments to rent in most places is high; often higher than supply. So even if you find another place before October be sure you can afford it over the long term. Also maybe try transitional housing. But find more details on all those places that help wit rent and housing in Colorado Springs. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... istan.html

Low cost housing for me in Colorado Springs?

Post by Rick »

Good afternoon,
My name is Diana and I have been living in Colorado Springs, Colorado and lived here at my place a year with my children. But I need a new apartment to live in. I was in a car accident, then I got a bad viral infection, and had reconstruction/fat transfer for my breast cancer. I was out from work February 1st until now and now my landlady wants to kick me out because she wants to sell. I have paid my rent until now but I don't know where to go because my credit is bad.
I have a job and will be able to go back to work, I've tried apartments and houses but nothing is available in Colorado Springs until middle of October, November. I did fill out a housing application for special accommodation and dropped it off but haven't heard anything back. What do me and my sons do if my landlady is forcing me out being that I was sick and just had a major surgery and trying to come over with no notice? She is putting me and my boys in danger with her other renters, charging me to pay yard work not asking me in advanced, no walk through conducted along with me having a medical document for pets. She allowed it and charged me for the pets due to my ADA and Medical certificate, even though my housing situation made me require it. I provided her with it and she even did an evaluation with no problems. The other tenant parties causes problems between my family and landlady knows of tenant next door having a dog and never got charged for it. Now I need somewhere else to live here in Colorado Spring.
