Hi,
If you live in a rural area, with lack of resources (like a bus) then we doubt there are many other car or transportation programs. But the Salvation Army often covers rural America too as they are so wide ranging, and some have free vehicle programs. So try this for a free Salvation Army car. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html

Can I get a free car as the local bus does not run daily

Well I don't take the bus and need a car. Because in my area the bus is only run Monday through Saturday. And if I have to take a bus to my doctor's office there is no bus that goes to that area. This isn't a city that I live in. It is very rural. And of course, if the weather is bad there's no buses. There's no buses on holidays. And I'll keep in mind the gas but I haven't had a need for gas to be put in my car for a long time.
I went to the car charities.org website and what it looks like was you sign up you write your life story of why you need help with a car repair or what have you and then people vote on your story. Then the story with the most votes wins. I don't have time for that to get a car. And it sounds like a waste of my time and energy for it anyway. I need to get repairs done on my car soon or a new car.
There is basically one local agency and whenever anybody needs anything they are sent there. I tried to get help last year with my car needed repairs and no one ever called me from this agency probably because they were busy helping people with rent and utilities so I'm not going to even bother calling them again. I went to seven churches and got money. So, it doesn't really leave me a lot to try to get money from other churches this time.
And as I mentioned I used to have great credit. I had a Capital One credit card with a credit line of $6,000. Well as a mention I had to use 95% of that for groceries, for medical and getting my car fixed. And I didn't get a loan and the same thing happened.
It wasn't for Fun and Games trust me. And I could not afford $300 a month payment since that pretty much was my rent. I am on Social Security Disability. I get a small widow's stipend. I live in a 55 and over senior apartment complex and I receive help with Section 8. My credit is so bad.
So, I don't know what place is going to give me a loan to get a somewhat decent running car or a free vehicle. I would really hate to go to a place that's here in town and get a used car and deal with somebody else's broken problems. Because once you drive that used car off the lot it's your problem. And no one can predict what kind of problems you're going to get with a used car. At least with my car I know what's been done to it. I only need $700. Or a new car as the bus does not run. I will try some of these places you have suggested but any local organizations are not going to help me because I've already tried.
