Lost social security when spouse died

Hi my name is Lori. I live in NY. I am trying to find out if there is an entity that helps pay you garbage bill. I am on the State ABD program and in the process of my social security disability to go through I have no idea when that will be. As my husband did and I needed to refile for disability. So I'm curious if you can help me out and let me know what I need to do that would be fabulous. Thank you

Can someone please call me, my mom died and my 80 year old father lives in the same apartment and the rent is the same. But she is not having her SS retirement income anymore, it’s so hard for my dad. I do financially support him and I am so weak right now, he worked so hard all his life and now at his age, he is struggling to get by.
