Re: Electric bill holding up section 8

Post by JoeQuick »

Hello, I am Jennifer, looking for help! I have an electric bill that I am concerned about, and I believe I need to contact an attorney about it, however currently my bill is $882.00 with the amount due of $500.00. My section 8 voucher is at risk unless electric is paid.
By the 15th I believe. However, I work and recently to on 3 children 13,8,7 and my 40-year-old disable sister and barley making it. Yet I paid a total of $620.00 with help of people and now this is my current and, I've only been in the house since 04/01/2024. Please help me the kids. We owe on electric and have no beds for our section 8 home and barely any clothes. However, I am currently on section 8 but may lose it.

So you are $945 behind? Good luck. No charity in Baltimore or anywhere else would help with that amount. Maybe ask the section 8 public housing authority (PHA) for suggestions on where to turn to for electric bill help. Maybe they have ideas. But we are glad you are on the path to getting out of homelessness.

I have to have a zero balance to move in my new apartment. Section 8 rules make this happen. I'm scared that this is the only thing keeping me from a stable home. I pray that I can figure this out somehow. I don't make it a habit asking for any kind of help, but I can't live on the streets any longer. I'm 43. Thank you for your time and listing once again with all my heart.
