MY LIGHTS ARE GOING TO BE CUT OFF TOMORROW. I am 58 years old and recently lost my job of 16 years. It is 100 degrees and I cannot live in this heat. I have never received assistance. My lights were off last month for 3 days but it wasn't as hot then. PLEASE help me. It is a prepaid phone and will be off on 6/2/12 unless a friend pays it. To Whom It May Concern: I live in Lafayette, Louisiana. Here is my situation. I am recently disable due to a surgery. I had ask my landlord can I pay 215 out of the 315 rent that was due in order to pay my other bills. So today I received a letter saying I need to pay other 100 by tomorrow. All I have on me is 136 dollars, in which I owe 133 to Entergy. Would have paid them but I was keeping on to it so I can purchase food. So in order to stay home I need to give my landlord his money but if I do that
in a matter of days I will be without electricity. I wouldn't receive a check until the 9th. He will not wait and Entergy will not also. So confused and do not have anyone I can turn to. I got help through Liheap and Citizens here in Massachusetts. My family is having a rough time. My husband is terminally ill-we deal with that every day.But money is in short supply after bills. It sounds like the best option for you may be the LIHEAP crisis program. Priority is given to people with children as well, which sounds like you fall into that category. Find information on a number of Virginia utility assistance programs and services too. Call your utility company first and foremost too. Roanoke is covered by these programs.

Water bills are hard to get help with. Not many programs for them. Usually because water bills are not as expensive. Anyway, find a listing of Alabama utility assistance programs. Some of these agencies may have support for water bills in Alabama, but it is rare.

We do not provide cash assistance, but we do offer information on the various programs available for you. We usually recommend talking to your utility company for financial aid. Who is your utility company in Florida? If you provide that we can give you more advice. In the meantime, find listing of utility assistance in Florida and all the resources available.

Yes, there are options for paying a deposit as well as regular utility bill. $200 does seem kind of steep, so why so much. Also look into staying with a friend until power gets turned on. Other utility assistance programs and resources in Tennessee are available for deposits and other expenses you may incur, so look into all options, such as Project Help which is offered by KUD,

If so, use this resource for information on utility assistance in both states. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/ene ... tance.html It is best you call the local utility company, such as Florida Power and Light or Duke Energy in South Carolina and ask for what types of financial assistance they offer. For example we know that a big program in SC is known as the Project Good Neighbor fund which can be called at 803-268-4050. Many are created from public or private donations, but you should call around for aid.

If you will get paid in a month, tell that to your Georgia utility company. I bet they can work out a payment plan with you. All of the plans, grants, and other aid is listed here, at Georgia energy and cooling bill assistance page. For example, Atlanta Gas Light runs the Home and Heartwarming Program which can offer credits on bills and free weatherization enhancements. There are many options like that too. Dial 1-800-869-1150

Here are the local energy bill assistance programs to call for information on financial assistance, grants, and other cash aid. Each state has a number of options and financial assistance programs, and can include electric companies themselves, charities, and/or non-profit organizations. Call as early as possible, before disconnection.
