Often Catholic Charities helps single moms with housing needs. There are several locations in Houston and the county. Maybe start with them first. But that sounds rude of your mom. Maybe she can give you more time? In the meantime, find assistance from Houston Catholic Charities.

I am a single mother with a 10 year old son and we were living with my mom, but she says she can't have us their anymore. I have lived in this house for four years without incident until now. I work as much as allowed when hours are available. Due to child care needs my hours have been cut tremendously. I owe 1150.00 on rent to my mom and my landlord (she is) is threatening to evict me if I don’t come up with the money within a week. Please help. Even if I pay she says I still need to leave her home within 60 days.
I'm a single mother of 1 and my mother just kicked me and my baby out. I just recently was laid off from my job and I am past due on my May rent and my apartment just filed eviction on the 17th of May. I just recently started a new job but won't be paid for another two weeks and if I don't get help my son and I will be homeless on the street. I have nowhere to go and no one who is family to help me.
Can the apartment manager in Milwaukee give you more time to find an alternate housing or apartment? There are several places to call for low income housing, rent, and maybe even car repairs in Milwaukee. They range from charities to Salvation Army and much more. Find our listing of Milwaukee non-profits and assistance programs.
