Re: How do I get help from Catholic Charities
Dear Catholic Charities,
My name is Carl, I lives in Pasadena CA and I am reaching out with a humble and grateful heart. I am 60 years old and currently living on a very low income. I am in the process of securing an apartment in Pasadena, CA, but I am struggling to cover the security deposit.
I have heard of the incredible work Catholic Charities does to help individuals like me, and I would be deeply appreciative if you could assist me with this need. This support would provide me with stability and a safe place to call home.
Thank you for considering my request. Please let me know if there are any forms or documents I need to provide to move forward with this process. I am more than willing to comply with any requirements.

Re: Catholic Charity permanent housing
Hi all,
A couple links to both regional and national Catholic Charity programs are in this thread. But there are other housing programs from the Catholic Charity churches, and find them here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ial_a.html

Re: Contacting Catholic Charities for dental
We have no idea if Catholic Charities will help with dental or not. But maybe the one near you has a clinic or something? But you can check with him and ask, and here are the Catholic Charity resources for assistance. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ial_a.html

Re: Contacting Catholic Charities for dental
I am a low income senior experiencing a great deal of abdominal distress due to missing teeth. I hope Catholic Charities can help me. As the dental needs keep me from properly chewing my food enough and can't digest the food properly. I need help paying for the necessary dental procedures (including an implant ) that are needed. I have Medicare with AARP United Health Insurance but this doesn't cover the needed dental work.

Re: Catholic Charity permanent housing
I have been living in my car since March. I am a fiftynine year old, female, on Social Security Disability. I am looking for permanent supportive housing, or any permanent housing from Catholic Charities. I have physical limitations, and I also have an SMI clinic, that I go to. I have been trying to get the clinical coordinator to send my housing application to the correct place. She is standing in as my case manager, and her management skills are outrageously horrible. After I filed a grievance, she finally took fifteen minutes to fill out the housing application. It never left the building.
I have to keep reminding her that I have serious mental illness, and that doesn't mean I'm stupid. I think Catholic Charities has rent help for people mentally ill too. She gives me no hope at all. She knocks down everything I say. That is dangerous, to do, to a person with mental illness. I am giving this information in case someone has information, on how I can get the application to ABC housing and rent money from the Catholic Charity. She has lied to me, over and over, but she won't claim any of that. She told me that she received an email stating that my application for permanent housing was not received. She can't get an email about someone that is not on file some where. Just one example of her nonsense. Thank you,

Re: Catholic Charity permanent housing
I've been working with social services and they advised they only do hotel placement if you have a medical disability or disorder. And they also said they don't supply hotel vouchers or permanent housing.
I am, as we are speaking, talking to someone at Catholic Charities for permanent housing, as they reached out today in response to an email I sent weeks back.
They did inform me they did hotel vouchers and temporary hotel placements in the past but due to people taking advantage of the system and not using the time to better there situation, they could no longer take on that financial burden. But luckily because we are reaching out to as many resources as we can and have started the application process for SNAP and general assistance with Social Services, at this moment they can help pay for the hotel expenses for 1 week.
This is a huge relief as we've been living day by day, which is hard enough, and this will help our stress of having to constantly worry about what tomorrow's housing situation will be, and we can focus on other things, like job searching and completing necessary documents to receive aid, but then what happens after that week?? That's what worries me.
Please provide some guidance on permanent housing from Catholic Charities.

Re: Contacting Catholic Charities for dental
There are other assistance programs in Fort Worth and Tarrant County that can help with dental. Look into clinics, charity care, volunteer doctors and more. In fact, dozens of them exist. And congrats on the subsidized apartment, but here are some options and places for you to look for Tarrant County programs.

Re: Catholic Charities can't help with security deposit on an ap
Hello,
I am in a panic!
I live in Sonoma county California (Windsor). I have a section 8 voucher and FINALLY after 6 months searching, was accepted to rent a home for my son & me.
When I got my voucher I was told to call Catholic charities to help with my deposit AFTER I have an address.
I contacted them but have heard nothing back. I contacted Rapid Rehousing and they are not accepting applications. I need to have a deposit to give this landlord by Wednesday November 12th. I don't know what to do for the security deposit if Catholic Charities does not help.
I work part time barely scraping by each month. I don't have money for deposit. What can I do? I'm so stressed out I could cry!
Thank you.

Contacting Catholic Charities for dental
Dear catholic charities: My name is Ambrosio, and I am a senior citizen, and a native-born American and Texas resident. The problem I have is that I use a full set of dentures and recently broke the lower half, accidently. I have had these dentures for over fifteen (15) years and had them broken and repaired once before. However, I am now on a fixed income (social security) and no longer have the option of simply having them repaired, much less replacing them. I hope you at Catholic Charities can help me with my dental needs as you did once before when to you to help I get much-needed eyeglasses. This is another reason for this email, when I went to you for help with the eyeglasses, I was told to fill out forms with information that you needed to grant me the help I needed. When you respond to this email and 'hopefully' ask me to come in, I hope your email provides a list of the information I will be asked to provide with my application for assistance.

Re: Can't get help from Catholic Charities as not in the church
Hello, I’m a 26 yr old, single mother. I've had no problem paying my bills since my son and I got our own place. I just got my electric bill a couple of weeks ago. I have been trying to figure out how it is double compared to every other month. I can't afford that and be able to feed my child. My mother told me about catholic charities but we are not in the church. How do I go about getting your help with paying my electric bill? Please contact me soon. My bill is due November 3rd. Thank you.

Re: How do I get help from Catholic Charities
While not common, there may be some financial help from the Kansas City Catholic Charities. But the churches rarely have funding and rather focus on addressing other needs. But try them for information.

Re: Grants from Catholic Charities
As you said, there is a Catholic Charities in Shreveport that offers housing, grant programs, and other resources too. Now whether that covers the motel room or not...who knows as it will depend on your situation, income, reason why in a motel, etc. The point being you need to call them and apply, and Catholic Charities will make that determination.

Re: Can't get help from Catholic Charities as not in the church
I am a single mother of 3. I recently lost my job and seeking employment. Yet, I was living pay to pay and spent my income tax return prior to being fired, thus I don't have no money and currently receiving food stamps. I went to social services on Art Museum and didn't qualify because of my tax return. Please help me find assistance to pay rent.
I have a 3 day notice and I have been calling the Catholic Charity appointment line and it is constantly busy. I have called at exactly the time required, a little bit before the time and even 1-2 minutes from the time, and I am still not able to get through. Please provide me with housing assistance and/or rental assistance.

Re: Catholic Charity permanent housing
My daughter and I relocated to Richmond, VA on Sept. 5, 2017 in the hopes of employment and a new start unfortunately for us the management falsified info after arriving the job was nonexistent. We ended up working and living in this hotel until 12/4/2017. We are homeless here in this beautiful city, I have contacted an agency to assist legal issues and Catholic charities for a permanent home. We are on the street tonight and have to travel to Catholic charities daily. Please help.

Re: Grants from Catholic Charities
My wife lives in Sarasota County (North Port, Florida). We have tried almost every one of these (although many of the websites cannot be accessed)....She is going to be evicted today - we have a call in to Catholic Charities for a grant and hope to hear from them. She starts going back to work as a waitress on Sunday. She is a single mom and desperately needs help.
