I found Metro Auto Ministry in the Dallas area (https://metroautoministry.org/). They help low-income families with vehicle repairs, and it looks like you can submit a request through their website. Another one worth checking out Alexis is Tonja's Place and looks like 469-464-9292 and https://www.mytonjasplace.net/ but confirm. I think they help single parents in the DFW area with transportation issues, including some vehicle repairs and, in certain situations, replacement vehicles.
A $1,500 repair hurts, but if it's mostly the catalytic converter hopefully once that's fixed you'll be back on the road. Since you just went back to work and have 4 kids, I'd definitely mention that when you apply anywhere because being able to keep your job is a big part of this.

I am reaching out because my sons social worker in Dallas stated you all help families pay for car repairs if it is their only means of transportation. You also help families obtain a vehicle if there is any assistance for that program available. I would like to apply for the car repair, if possible but am not opposed to the new vehicle if that is an option also.
I thought I was going to pass my cars emission test, but unfortunately, I failed. I got a quote for 1,500 in car repairs, mostly due to one concern/issue. The catalyst converter. I have just started working again, after having a son with a severe medical diagnosis and finally finding home nursing for him. I have 4 kids and rely on my truck on a daily. I cannot afford to lose my job. Hope to hear back soon,

Hi,
First of all, car repair help is not common. Then paying for a car repair (after you already had the work done) is even more rare. But we have some places you can try in Dallas including community action. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... allas.html
We also have information on nation non-profits. You can try them to ask about money to pay for a car repair, and maybe they can refer you to Dallas County agencies. Read about those other car repair programs. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... pairs.html

Need to pay for my car repair in Dallas TX

Post by Advair »

Hello, I am writing you to see if I can get help getting my family vehicle out of the shop in Dallas Texas. We depend on this car dearly and need to be able to take my sons to and from school. I had to have a new computer put in it to fix the car. My final repair cost is $1000. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to receive some help or a grant to pay the bills. The work is already been done to the car by a mechanic in Dallas. I just need to pay the bill to pick it up, it is currently at Leon's automotive repair shop. It's a 2004 Cadillac CTS.
