Looking for help getting food in Michigan

Sounds like everything piled up at once. Since you're outside Detroit, maybe call Gleaners Community Food Bank (866-453-2637, https://www.gcfb.org/) and see where the closest food pantry or maybe they have other ideas. They also have the page on their site at https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... banks.html and maybe you can find some options there. Also call The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) at 800-866-8429 (https://thawfund.org/) if you're behind on your utilities as they try to help too.

Since you've both got little or no income right now, I'd also call your local MDHHS office and ask about Emergency Relief and whether you can get SNAP expedited because of the hospitalization. If your medical leave is through work, make sure you've also applied for short-term disability or any disability benefits your employer offers too, as IMO a lot of people don't realize they have that coverage.

I'm on medical leave because I was hospitalized for blood clots, carpal tunnel neuropathy and side effects from my anxiety depression medications. I was working outside Detroit prior to this. I was hospitalized in April and May. We have no income at this time and can’t even buy food or pay the bills. My husband doesn’t have any unemployment. Because of My condition it’s hard for him to get a job and look after me....We Need help paying our bills and getting food to eat too. Please help us.

Yes, we have resources for both food and bills in MI. Most counties have food pantries, and look here for free food in MI.

Hello, my name is Franky. I live in Michigan. I don’t know if you guys can help me with food and bills. I have had a lot of problems recently. My mother spent several months in and out of the hospital all summer and fall. She now needs vitamins and costly healthy food.
I hit a deer in rural MI with my car, my grandmother passed away, my other car burst into smoke when I got to work today. I have 4 kids that I tried to give them a good school season and food during the school year as they do not qualify for free breakfast or lunch programs. I am behind on my bill.
They are threatening to shut of my power off. I have had so much bad luck the past few months. Is it possible for you to be able to help me and my kids with food and bills. I do not know where to turn. It has been one dead end to another.
