Re: I need help in Nashville, TN area

To those who are willing and able to help us,
I’m not sure exactly how to go about this. I’ve always been a very strong and independent women who manages to figure things out on her own. Unfortunately, I’m beat and I have nowhere to turn. I have a teenage son and a pre-teen daughter. in Nashville. Paying rent and keeping food on the table has been a struggle. I work three jobs and I still can’t afford to catch up on my rent.
I know exactly how I came across this really bad situation. I hate to say it is partially my fault and the residential building I live in is fault.
About 10 years ago I applied for a 2-bedroom apartment through the housing connect portal. After waiting for a decade, my log number was reached. I was extremely happy. At the time I was with someone who was able to help me pay rent and we seemed like such a happy well-plus family.
Long story short we are no longer together.
I’ve been living in my building on the outskirts of Nashville for over 3 years. During our third year here, I was pregnant and lost the baby during my last trimester which took me through a tough time to mentally recover. At the time my partner lost his job. His boss just decided to shut down the pharmacy and relocated and gave my partner at the time a 2-day notice.
I was still healing and trying to recover from my loss and surgery.
Being this was so sudden I had to suck it up and find a job.
Through gods’ eyes I was able to land a job within that week.
I had to mask everything up. I couldn’t show that I was always in pain and that my heart was completely shattered from losing my baby.
Instead, I was hired as a Catering Sales Manager which means that I would always have to smile and make every client’s interaction with me a magical one.
I love my clients now and I’ve grown up with them now that they all know what I had to go through and always state I am strong. If they only knew the hard nights of crying and asking God to please give me strength and to help me take care of my kids!
My faith has never left!!
As time passed the apartment started to show its true quality. I started getting mold on the floors and my appliances were breaking down. The walls crack and paint chipped.
I can count my fingers on how many times I had to trash my groceries from the refrigerators being inoperative. I send ticket after ticket.
I sent our building emails in regard to these issues. After some time, the building finally decided to send someone up to fix our floors. Everything else was still not handled. After about 2 weeks the floors started molding again and now it is traveling throughout the apartment.
After explaining to the building, they never sent anyone to assist with any of our ongoing issues. I decided to hold back rent. Two months and nothing taken care of. I started noticing my son and daughter started waking up with sore throats and stuffy noses and just congested. Now it was due to ventilation issues.
I took my kids to the doctor, and my daughter now has severe allergies, and my son now has asthma.
My kids were always healthy.
Moving forward on June 26th, 2026, my neighbor called me and told me to take that notice off my door because no one needs to know my business. So instead of them fixing my problems they decided to put a notice on my door. A notice dated June 18th I have 14 days from this note to pay my rent or else I’ll have court notice.
I don’t have that money, being the money I had saved I had to put towards my car that broke down in Delaware after visiting family.
I’m in what they call a hole!
I don’t know what to do. I spoke with my boss and asked for an advance which took a lot out of me. I have not received an answer, but I know I can’t afford to get put in the streets with my kids.
I have no money to pay rent or even celebrate my son’s 14th birthday which is July 23rd.
He’s a great kid and deserves a birthday cake at least.
I’m sorry for the long email I never know how to really explain what I’m going through being I always - keep my struggles to myself.

I am reaching out to inquire about any resources or guidance you may be able to provide regarding my disabled mother’s housing situation.
My mother is currently residing in Nashville Tennessee, where she is facing the loss of her housing. She is disabled and receiving SSI but does not have access to a vehicle or any other local assistance. Unfortunately, she does not qualify for most transportation programs in Tennessee due to not being classified as a senior, which has made her situation even more challenging.
I am located in Macomb County, Michigan, and while I can assist her with transportation to Michigan, I am unable to accommodate her in my home due to space limitations. I am looking for information on housing options or programs in Michigan that may be available to her. Ideally, I need to find resources that can provide her with affordable housing and any support services she may need once she arrives here. Any leads on agencies, programs, or contacts who may be able to assist would be greatly appreciated.
I truly want to help her transition into a stable living situation in Nashville, and any guidance or recommendations you can offer would mean a great deal to our family.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.

Since your need is around a car, job in Nashville TN, and in general self-sufficiency, try the community action agency. They can help with transportation as well as employment, help you get an income, a car and more. Locate the Metropolitan Action Commission assistance programs.

Hello, my name is Lauren. I am currently in Nashville Tennessee. I have little to zero income. I am down and out and I have tried everything. I bought a car with the stimulus check and it turned out to be a lemon. With no warranty there is nothing I can do about it  I recently learned that UMC donates cars to people in need. I am almost positive I qualify for that. I would be homeless if it were not for my uncle. Who alone cannot take care of my everyday needs? I have 2 dogs who are also hungry so I have been feeding them my donated food. So, I am again hungry. I do not know what to do and I am hoping to get some answers soon with options in Nashville TN. Thank you for your time

Hello, my name is Molly. My fiancée, Andy, and I are currently in a situation where we have until December 25th to move in the Nashville area. I have exasperated all other options, and have called several local resources, with no success. Andy recently lost his job and currently works from home, and I am on disability. So, money is tight, but my dad has agreed to help with some of the initial costs of moving. I am hoping that there is a program or resource that may be available to help in Nashville TN.
I currently reside in Wallan, TN and would like to stay in Blount County. I would like to find a 2 bedroom house that would allow my cat as well. I have a neutered male cat who is my emotional support animal.
If there is any information you can share with me, I would be most appreciative. My information is as follows: Thank you very much for your consideration.
Best Wishes, and God Bless

We do not think they can deduct your paychecks. Short term disability is a protection in a crisis, and the county of Davidson Tennessee should be able to advice you on your rights. Or try legal aid in Nashville. So pursue that. But in the meantime, there are places to turn for for financial aid in Davidson County that may help you while you are battling your employer.

I just need some assistance for the next few months to get caught up.

Hi. It sounds like you have a variety of needs. When this is the case, this may be my favorite resource to find the widest variety of assistance programs in Tennesse. Many charities and other groups. Read thru this and contact some groups for help.
