Connie, try Reno Sparks Gospel Mission at 775-323-0386 and Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada. Both sometimes have emergency utility assistance or can refer you to agencies that do.
Also be sure to call NV Energy and ask if they can place you on a payment arrangement or connect you with any resources. Since you're on SSDI, also ask Washoe County Human Services if there are any programs for disabled adults that can help with utilities or other basic needs.

Reno resident and need help with bills please
Hi, my name is Connie. I live in Reno, NV of Washoe County. I live on one check a month from SSDI. It's getting more difficult as the years go by and inflation goes up, but my check doesn't. Keeping up with my utility bills and food has become a major issue with me. I've fallen behind and now I can't afford to Register my car or might not be able to keep my car Insurance because my utility bill has gotten over $350. If NV Energy turns me off, I will lose my housing for ever and become homeless. I live on only $870 a month. That is Poverty level. Without being able to drive my vehicle it becomes even harder for me to find part time employment. Especially living outside the city limits.
If you can help me with any organizations that could free me of this ongoing battle of a utility bill, so I can concentrate on legalizing my vehicle and feel self-worth again. Depression is one of my Disabilities. And financial burden has been the key factor to my health.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
