Hi Jonathan
We do have a list / page dedicated to rent assistance in the Belleville IL area - see it at the list of Belleville rent assistance programs. Maybe some will pay for the hotel - maybe not. But it is worth a try.

I have a friend that's trying to get me where he works, but it may take some time. I am staying at the Town House Motel in Belleville Illinois, and I will have to be out by next Monday the 10th, because I will be out of money.
I found your link on an internet page, and if there's any help I could get to keep paying rent at this Motel until I find a job it would be greatly appreciated. Or a motel in any nearby town or city in Illinois would work. Thank you

Hi, my name is Nicholas. Me and my girlfriend are losing our place to stay as of today. I have been searching for about a week now for a program that helps with first month rent and security deposit but have come up with nothing until now. I am currently living in Illinois the zip code is 61462. If there is any possible way we can receive some kind of help, please let me know.

Good morning, my name is Rocio. It has been a year since I got divorced and had to move in with my sister because I did not have a place to live. Soon after I was divorced, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go through two surgeries. At this moment, I am cancer free but still living with my sister.
I do have a child that I have full custody of. My ex refuses to help me rent a place. He is living in a nice place, driving the most expensive cars, and I am still in my sister’s living room. I have found a nice rental apartment for me and my son, but I do not make a lot of money. I am currently living in Illinois. Is there a place I can get help from to help me with the rent?
Please help me. I am so desperate, and I would like to offer my son a home and have our own privacy. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Rocio

Hello, I've been looking a lot online for some type of housing assistance, or help with financial assistance or anything to keep me & my daughter from being homeless or from having to go all the way downtown to a homeless shelter. I am 18 years old, my daughter is 17 months. I am also currently 7 months pregnant with a baby boy. They have the same father but he doesn't take his part in being a father.
I am currently living in my mother's one bedroom apartment in oak forest Illinois. But she is living with her boyfriend in Chicago Illinois & she texts me everyday telling me I need to get out, I need to find somewhere to go, but I have been trying to find a place to live since around April & I still have had no luck. My mom had told me I don't have much time to find somewhere, my dad won't even let me do laundry at his house & also said I cannot live there again.
I only have a few friends, they would help me if they could but they don't have any room in their houses for any more people. I don't speak to none of my family because all they do is make me feel worse about this situation. So they do not help me at all either. I have none to turn to, not even for a babysitter which is why I do not have a job, I don't even have any type of transportation to a job & back.
I have no money, not even a few dollars for the bus or to eat. I do have a link card & WIC to feed myself & my daughter, but I can't even afford to buy us new clothes or anything. It makes me feel so horrible knowing its very difficult for me to provide a home for my daughter & soon to be son. I just want my kids to be happy, I should be getting cash assistance soon with my public aid but I have no idea when & how much. But it will probably be just enough to get us by in what we need.
I just want my kids to have a home to call their own, I don't want to feel like a horrible mother anymore :( I just want what's best for my children. So if you could please help me in any way, I would greatly appreciate it. But my phone has been messing up which is why I emailed.

No agency in Chicago will give you $6000 for that back rent. While it is great you can pay all of your bills and housing going forward, $6000 is a lot of money. Maybe ask the landlord for a payment plan. Many will offer this to save them the expense from evicted you and the kids, marketing the home, fixing it up, etc. If you can pay a little of the rear rental expenses each month, this may keep you housed and avoid homelessness. Also, look into agencies that offer help for rent in Chicago.

If you have no source of income and are that far behind, then unfortunately there is little that can be done. As you know unemployment will not pay for your entire rent and other living expenses. You may need to start to look for alternate housing. But also talk to a case manager, as maybe they have suggestions for you on Cook county Illinois resources, as there are many that assist with housing needs. Locate resources for rent help in Cook County.

I am facing eviction with a rear rent balance of $6000. I left an abusive relationship with my 2 children 2 years ago with no job or vehicle. I now live in Chicago. I struggled to find odd work to pay what I could of rent to keep my kids safe. I have paid my rent on time and in full for the past 6 months with my full-time employment paycheck and child support. I am now able to afford my current bills but am unable to pay the rear rent balance owed.
If I would get assistance with the rear rent amount, I would finally be able to breathe knowing my children have a home that I can pay the rent currently and in the future. I’ve come so far but cannot seem to be able to overcome the obstacle of paying my past due rent amount. If you have any information of any agencies that could possibly help me and my daughters avoid having to be homeless or move back in with my abusive ex. Thank you so much, I would appreciate information you are able to provide.

My three children just received an eviction notice yesterday. Unfortunately, I lost my job due to medical issues that that got me admitted into the hospital, but I am doing ok now. Also, with getting County insurance I will be able to get the testing and regular care needed so that I can be the strong mother that I am for my children. We are devastated because we just moved into our new home November 30, 2013 after being homeless and bouncing from house in Chicago IL.
We really don't want to move again nor do we have the means too and we love our new home. I got approved for unemployment insurance so we will be able to make our monthly bills with the help of County assistance (food stamps) and I have a list of job interviews but we need help with October and possibly November's rent.
My electricity was shut off TODAY and I am trying to get help through a Utility Assistance program now. In addition, we have no family or friends really that live in the area or that are willing to help. We have NO MONEY AT ALL Except FOR $7.53 in the Bank. PLEASE HELP US PLEASE AND YOU CAN CONTACT ME DIRECTLY. WE REALLY DON'T WANT TO GET EVICTED PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP! We will help in any way possible to not only pay back but say thank you and show you our appreciation for helping us out. PLEASE CALL ME. Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing from you soon :)

You can also check with the city of Chicago on unsafe housing, as the landlord needs to provide water. Regardless, funds for a security deposit are rare. You are more likely to get help for first months rent. There are a few places to try in the city, and learn more on rental asisistance in Chicago.

I have been unemployed for two years with a background in default servicing. I have been unable to pay rent for 9 months but my landlord stated that if I just pay June rent at $1600 and find a job soon he will work with me and waive the 3 day pay or quit notice. So I need help with this payment and welfare and the state of Illinois cannot help me.

Well, we have extensive information and options for you. Both national and local housing, legal, and support. For state of Illinois assistance, use this resource. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/ill ... grams.html On the page are links to dozens of agencies and programs, including free legal aid. You may want to look into that if have an abusive relationship.
Here is the information on the local community action agency in Stephenson County Illinois.
And for single moms, there is a nation charity called CoAdobe. It can help moms find housing for themselves and their children, and read more on single mom housing. Explore all about the main site, and we have a search box at the bottom of every page too.

Try the Illinois Rental Housing Support assistance program. It provides rent subsidies and grants.

You can also contact your local community action agency. They can usually refer you to additional programs and services.
