Re: Need help in Miami County, Ohio
Mrs. Valarie, since you're in Miami County, try the Miami County Community Action Council at (937) 335-7921 again and ask specifically about any emergency utility grants or crisis assistance, not just the regular programs. They sometimes have funding become available throughout the year.
For food, check with First Place Food Pantry in Troy and the Lincoln Community Center pantry. Both serve Miami County residents and may be able to help before your housing appointment.
I hope someone from the area knows of additional resources. Keeping you and your husband in my prayers.

Need help in Miami County, Ohio
I know you are busy but I'm out of options. I am on a fixed income, and I can't even get into Miami County, Ohio (troy) housing and a pantry until November 19th. I'm on fumes now and keep my thermostat on 60. While winter ending summer soon here. My husband is a severe diabetic and I have to keep him warm and cool and he needs special food. If you can't help me, please let me know who can help me. I’ve tried churches and community services to no avail. Maybe we should just get off ourselves (I'm kidding)), I'm just out of options. Thank you for your help.
Mrs. Valarie
P.S. it's just the two of us.
