Since you have many needs for your parents, try the all inclusive - wide ranging New Haven community action. As the site says they do a lot and it is here https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... f_new.html
Curious, since your parents are 67, you ever hear of a senior center? Maybe some people there can help them and I found this list at https://www.newhavenct.gov/government/d ... ior-center

Since then, their income had went from my mom SSI check 733 to being cut to social security 500 something. My dad 1400 in social security to 1100 rent is 775 and for the past 2 months for a 1-bedroom apartment has been almost $400 and my mom food stamps went from 192 to 15 a month. I'm trying my best to help them, but I can only do so much, she has a lot of health problems and can't even afford the co-pay on her meds, so she hasn't taken any (diabetic, heart, cholesterol etc. etc. We don't know what else to do. They about to give up and just live in their car and I can have that. I just had to send the little money I must send them, so they can eat. They also have 4 small dogs that they adore to death. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.?

Hi Penny
That is a long list of needs, which often people have when going through a challenge. We do have a main page of programs for help in New Haven County at https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ce_pr.html
There are links to food pantries, financial aid programs and more that may help you. These are in addition to any churches you tried.

I applied to my church with denied me because I had not been to church. I explained VI want to, but I do not really drive because of my condition. I am married and my husband is looking for work and has been offered a job, but because of what they do it is likely to be another 2-3 months before his first check. My money is only covering rent and electricity. I received an oil grant for heat and hot water and I have well water. My son is ten and my daughter is 20 but can't afford to get her license. We can't afford food, gas, car insurance or our car payments. My car is broken down so I placed the insurance on hold however I have a $300+ insurance bill to pay before the reduction next month. My husband and I only owe about $2-3000 on each of our cars before they're paid off completely and we are now on the verge of having them repossessed. We visit our local food pantry weekly but they're funding has been reduced so there are no household items like toilet paper or paper towels and no toiletries like toothpaste or deodorant or shampoo/soap. I shop at Dollar Tree whenever I can. If we lose our cars he can't work (we live in a farming community) so no buses. He's been Ubering but it is barely paying for the gas. I left a message for my local Center on aging because they also work with the disabled, but they have not returned my call! We will lose everything before he can even start his new job. Please help. 1 last thing; I had been referred to place after place with no help and a lot of places say they help with New Haven County buy they really do not...you need to live in New Haven itself!!!
