Sorry to read that and all those health / medical issues. Can the life partner also try disability? As here are programs for people in VA with a disability.
But Cumberland County is very limited in resources and sparsely populated. Try the social service office here https://www.cumberlandcounty.virginia.g ... l-Services

I live in Cumberland County VA 23040. My children and I have lived with their grandmother Debra Mitchell for the past couple years. She has helped me raise my children, her grandchildren and been our rock.
She herself has faced and overcome a brain aneurism, broke her back twice, lost one of her legs in a hunting accident, broke her wrist, mirror in bathroom fell cutting main tendons in other wrist, and she continues to smile and stay positive and shower us with unconditional love. Last June 2025 children’s grandfather (Debra’s life partner) who built and framed houses, had a fall that has resulted in many surgeries and is now unable to walk. To say times have been trying, is an understatement.
Our only income has been grandma's monthly disability check. We don't have a vehicle. Don't live near public transportation. Our electricity has been cut off for lack of payment, we lost our home of 10 years. a week ago, to foreclosure at an auction. Soon we face homelessness. Is there any help to get our electricity cut back on so we can pack up our lives, and move on to unknown destination? Thank you. Tonya
