Because I am in dire need of help, I am at my wit's end. I have nothing. I pay my rent for my apartment in Sarasota, and I have no money left over to pay my energy bill. I need a washer and dryer desperately. I have a grandbaby, and we cannot even wash our clothes. I have been washing them in the bathtub, and I was just wondering if you knew of any programs or someone that could help me.
I do not like asking for help, but I am in such dire need, and I just feel like I am going to lose it or end it if I cannot find any help or some sort of relief. I just do not know what to do. I have no one I can turn to.

Dear, I'm writing you out of pure hope this morning. I actually came across your information when looking for help online, for free Thanksgiving food, and Christmas help, but also help for my family as we need other help with all our bills. To make a long story short, we live in Sarasota.
We came from Indiana just 8 months ago. Around 3.5 months in, we found black and other molds in a utility closet. There's a lot of details I'm leaving out!! We got the section 8 housing choice voucher. We don't live in section 8 housing though...
We let our landlord know immediately in July. Housing has put him in abatement. He won't fix the mold etc. We had it tested, four or five are toxic/deadly. I already have a terminal illness. I have an autistic 6-year-old, and he has other developmental delays. My 24-year-old son is going for SSI due to ADHD, anxiety and panic disorder, and my friend that has Rheumatoid and Psoriatic Arthritis, as well as severe neck injuries from an accident.
I also have asthma/mild emphysema. I also have, since moving in here, scattered swollen lymph nodes in my chest. We are all in more pain than usual, it stinks so bad in here, our guy that did our inspection from housing started to get itchy eyes, runny nose, etc.
Our landlord refuses to spend any money...just take ours! Housing will no longer pay him at all, since he won't fix this. We can barely breathe. We have 100% mold toxicity symptoms online. So, we had our appointment with housing authority just yesterday.
My 6-year-old has a bday here on the 16th. We won't be able to get him even one gift. At our appointment, our caseworker said we need to move ASAP!! We have no idea where to go. We are sick, so it's hard rough. But we got to move by December 5th at the very latest. We don't have money for a deposit, a moving truck, movers, gas, we are sinking. I'm so upset I'm having a lot of blood pressure issues, anxiety attacks, we all are.
I saw your information about holiday programs for both Christmas and Thanksgiving. We need furniture desperately. Will you please help us? I've called at least 20 apartments and or homes. We can't be homeless. Please help us!! Whether it's housing, movers, anything. We are desperate and very scared. Thanks for reading. My contact information is:

Sorry to read it is a year, but of course resources are limited. Maybe even more so in FL and Sarasota due to the politics there. Not to mention you need a lot for you and your kids. Anyhow, food is a little easier to get as there are many charities and food pantries in the area, as noted here.

As far as the financial help for housing, bills, car staff, etc. that is of course harder to get. But look here for help with bills in Sarasota.

Hi my name is Teresa. I've been going in circles for almost a year trying to find any kind of help or assistance for me and my children. We need housing, food and money after being homeless due to our landlord passing away. The house was sold without notice leaving me with an eviction. So it's harder to find someone to rent to me now but I was never served the eviction.
So I am trying to figure out how to get this fixed and to feed my kids. I did work full time and living in and out of hotels or in the car just unstable with my kids. I am self-employed and out of work at the moment and I use my car 4 work but it's been overheating. I need to figure out how to get it fixed. But really my main concern is trying to get assistance for me and my family get into a stable place to live in Sarasota and food. There's waiting list I've been on since 20014.
I don't know what to do but seems there's no hope. I get one step closer and 10 steps back it just never stops.
