Yes, San Francisco is still one of the most expensive cities and areas in the country - even up there in world rankings. But there are different programs you can try for your daughter, and look here for help in San Francisco. Also have your kids check with the college, as many have centers or even like food pantries and what not.

Wondering what assistance is available? My two daughters that are students at San Francisco State are 19 and 21 and struggle every month to pay their rent and groceries and utilities. Both work part time and are full-time students. Can you advise on any assistance they could apply for to help them in SF Financial aid will kick in in September but they have no way to pay their rent June July and August. I have included them in this email. Thank you.
