My name is Dave, I am a Recovery Coach for Community Health Clinic in New Kensington, PA. I work with people that have addictions to get back on their feet. I also work with persons that have mental and physical and disabilities. I was wondering if you had any info that could help me. With housing or transportation or anything they need? Heating bills or any other services you my thing they can use.

Hi Erin
Since you are recovering from surgery, try FMLA at your job. Or look into short term disability.
In addition to those resources, we have a list of programs in Westmoreland county that you can try for financial help with your bills too. Look for assistance using this link. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html

Who helps with bills in Westmoreland county PA?

My name is Erin and I reside in Brenizer PA, Westmoreland county with my husband and children. A family of four total. We are in a bad financial way due to me not being able to work at the moment, I'm recovering from a major surgery. So we have a loss of income from me. We are just moments away from utility shut off notices, we've been scraping by and paying what we can, but our money hasn't stretched to far lately. We are 100's of dollars behind on electric bills, our water and sewage are also due, though not as backed up on those.
We have $50 to our names to last us until next week, all of which needs to go to gas in my husbands car to get back and forth to work. We need groceries for my kids at least, for school lunches and such.
I'm embarrassed to be reaching out at all, but we are in a desperate and temporary situation.
If our utilities are shut off we have no where to go. We have applied for assistance with our bills in the past through the state, but per their requirements we make 18% too much to qualify for anything at all. Even help with food. Can you advise me as to what we can do, or if help is even available to us?
Thank you so very much,
Erin
