Re: Any church groups in Texas?
I have been looking and looking, and it appears there is no community action agency for where I live being that it is a very small, and rather economically down-turned rural community in northern Texas (Montague County, Saint Jo Texas, 76265). So I am now looking for a church and so many in Texas. I have tried calling my electric company and 2-1-1 both of which referred me to Catholic charities in a town an hour+ in either direction. I emailed Monday they answered me yesterday and I have been calling all morning and cannot get through to anyone and am in dire need of utility assistance as I am nearing me disconnect.
And have a child who is about to turn 3. With 95° weather out.
Aside from that here is a little about my situation at hand:
I am a single mother living in income-based government assisted apartments that are by no means of good quality or a good or thriving environment for my daughter or myself. I am struggling to get by and have been too embarrassed to ask for any kind of help which has led to an overwhelming amount of anxiety and stress that I feel like I am being buried under. I have been in touch with HHSC to get food stamps and medical assistant until I can get on my feet, but I am steadily drowning in bills and cannot stay afloat. I started out in March with the onset of Pneumonia, missed 11 days of work, being that I worked for the casino they weren't really willing to work with me on attendance despite being sick due to their policies, so I resigned to leave on a better note
2 weeks later It relapsed and I was out for another 13 days. I used my last paycheck to pay Aprils bills, and as May rolled around, my car broke down, timing belt broke, followed by vacuum leak, and now a cylinder 3 misfire( including both the cam and crankshaft sensors, sparkplug wires, and a possible coil pack, all of which I cannot afford to replace) I've scraped every dime available trying to get it running (which it is just sputtering and constantly stalling and dying to no avail.) My registration ran out August 31st furthering my dilemma as I cannot afford Tags that I would need in order to get to work even if by some miracle the car was able to get fixed. Also, my daughter's 3rd birthday is 2 days away and I cannot provide a celebration for her or get on my feet to start saving for the holidays. No matter how hard I try, it seems like a snowball effect just one thing after another knocking me down when I am trying my hardest to get on my feet and provide for my child.
My electric bill is nearing disconnection on the 9th (already had to acquire an extension as it was due the 22nd, they are the ones who referred me to 2-1-1 for help) but even then I don't have any way to acquire that kind of money, especially on short term with a car that won't run and I am in desperate need of help at this point, I don't know where else to turn other than hoping for a church because I've been too scared to ask for help as I feel like it is a burden to those around me and my family has exhausted all their resources in the previous months trying to help me out which is causing them financial hardship. Being that I live in a small rural town, there's really no where to turn to for help and the closest places with adequate work are 30 minutes in either direction or everyone here seems to turn a blind eye when it comes to helping others.
I pray this reaches someone in time that can possibly give me some guidance in order to help keep my head above water and a roof over our heads in any way possible.
I am very grateful for your consideration in assisting my family and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, I'm interested in knowing if I qualify for any of your programs from your church. I was injured on the job in Dallas, have followed through on the necessary procedures surrounding the injuries and because of the legitimate work-related accident, it has placed limitations & restrictions on my overall mental and physical abilities to perform.
I don't receive any income from the state of TX due to the work-related injuries. I'm without a vehicle to get to and from my doctor appointments. I'm having to rely on public transportation and my household is lacking due to the hardship that I'm facing.
I would be so grateful to receive whatever help you can provide.
Thank You Kindly,

Re: Any church groups in Texas?
Yes, try a church group. We have assistance from churches listed here.
https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ance_.html
But note they often have limited resources, so you may need to try other resources too. But there are churches in Texas as well as many other agencies.

Re: Any church groups in Texas?
Hi my name is Marina and I really need help from a church group. My husband and I came from Dimmit Texas to work with a guy who said that he was going to pay my husband a salary. But he didn't and housing and he put us in a warehouse without a bathroom and we have to move by Monday morning and my husband already found a job but until one week and we found a place that costs 400 a month and 400 deposit. We are not going to have that amount and we are going to be homeless. If you know of any church group in Texas that can help me please assist.

Re: Any church groups in Texas?
I'm staying with my brothers in Madison Texas, all have children and my youngest Brother is a person that don't appreciate what I do. He expects me to have money all the time and neglect what I have to do. I'm currently looking for a place for myself and my boys and a job and I hope the churches in Texas can help. But not sure if and when the lights may get cut off and I need for them to be on cause my oldest son has Epilepsy. I help when I can and he don't work but pay anything on the bills that are his place. But my kids are there that is why I'm reaching out. I can't apply for him. He has to do it. Help.

Any church groups in Texas?
I am 54 years old and still have a 15 year old daughter at home. Within the last 10 month my husband has left me twice for a women he has a 5 year affair with. He cleaned out accounts. This time he left me again and disappeared. He can’t be reached and left me again financially stranded. I have severe anxiety problems and need to get to my older children in Texas. Is there any church group they could help me with moving expenses? I can’t wait until I lose my roof over the head, please help me to relocate to Texas? Thank you.
