Hi,
Car repair help is rare, probably even more so in TX which does not really offer help to struggling people as Texas is a MAGA state. But for national programs for car repair help including for a mercury, look here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... pairs.html

As far as local option to fix your car (which as mentioned would be very rare) try community action in TX. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... gency.html

Need help to fix my car somewhere in Texas

Post by Sparkers »

I need help! I am in a hardship situation. I am signed up for a debt relief program through a law firm in Dallas that handles my debt management. I have an attorney that is negotiating with a loan company that has tried to sue me in small claims court. The attorney in Dallas is working on a settlement based on financial hardship.
In the meantime, my 2010 Mercury Milan (has about 103,000 miles) has decided it wants to drain the battery no matter how new it may be... this is going to cost me a fortune to have the electrical system or whatever the source of the problem is to be diagnosed. The dealership has told me that it will cost $200.00 or more to diagnose the problem. With no guarantees.
I have had the vehicle tested repeatedly ... the battery (once it is charged) is fine and the alternator is fine and the starter as well. Yet when I take it home to my place in University Park outside of Dallas Texas and let it sit overnight something drains the battery and I have to keep calling AAA to come and jumpstart the car. There are some other weird things that the car is doing...but I won't get into that. Unless you need the details.
I would love to trade the car in for something a bit younger, but I can't make the additional payments right now. I am on Section 8 Voucher system, a client of the local food bank and on SNAP (food stamps) but only receive $23.00 monthly.
I am on disability and have a fixed income. is there anything you can do to help either fix the car or get me some type of free or low cost vehicle? As I think my Mercury is done.
Thank you for your assistance.
