Re: Need help in Montgomery County, Maryland for low-income
Jennifer, I’m really sorry. Losing your mom, losing income, and trying to hold everything together for your daughter at the same time is a lot for anyone.
Since you’re in Rockville, try contacting Montgomery County Emergency Assistance and Interfaith Works at [email protected] first thing Monday morning — both sometimes help with eviction prevention and food. Also check with your leasing office to see if they’ll accept a partial payment plan since you’ve already raised a large amount.
I really hope you can close that last gap and keep your apartment.

Re: Need help in Montgomery County, Maryland for low-income
Hi, I live in Rockville MD and my name is Jennifer. I am a single mother of an 11 year old daughter and I work full time at PetSmart. My mom loved with us, but she died at the end of April. Because I was so devastated I wasn't able to work right away and lost my job just a few days after losing my mom. Besides the absolute agony of that she helped financially. I have mental health issues and I became incredibly depressed over the summer.
Make a long story short I got behind on my rent and now I'm going to be evicted if I don't have $2381 to the leasing office by Tuesday morning. I also need food for my 11 year old. I have managed to get $200 from Rockville help and I've raised almost $700 from GoFundMe and FB fundraiser. I have $400 from my last paycheck. I'm $1000 short and trying desperately to raise as much of that as possible. My daughter and I have nowhere to go if I get evicted on Tuesday. Please help us!!

Hi,
Income of $34,000 is not much in Montgomery County. But we have information on programs that may help - but you need long term support to live in costly MD. Either way, look here for financial help near you in Montgomery County MD.

Need help in Montgomery County, Maryland for low-income
Hello,
I am currently located in Montgomery County, Maryland and I am seeking financial/rental assistance. I was recently approved for an affordable unit however I am seeking assistance for first months rent, security deposit, internet, and utility assistance. I was wondering if you could please refer me to resources that would be helpful in my area. My gross income for 2023 was very low and approximately $34,000 therefore I believe there are some programs I do not qualify for. Thank you for your assistance!
