Hi Virginia,
The Angel Tree is normally run by the Salvation Army. They are listed on our site. But there are other charities in Philadelphia that may help your 2 kids during the holidays as well, and we have a list of them here at the Philly area holiday assistance programs.

Who in Philadelphia helps at Christmas?
Hello my name is Virginia and I live in Philadelphia. I'm looking for help with Christmas for my kids this year and I wanted to see if I could get in the Angel tree program. I have 2 amazing biological children and an amazing step daughter. Well it's my fiance's/father of my youngest it's his daughter. We aren't married but we have been together 12 years. My fiance was an awesome provider up until a year ago he had to have to major surgeries. O
October of last year he had neck surgery - every vertebrae in his neck had to be fused except 1 and he had to have his 2nd total hip joint replacement in January of this year. He still needs back surgery because he has so much damage to his back but he's scared to death to do it he's been through so much so he lives with the pain everyday for now.
I have been his caretaker because he can't be left alone I have to do everything for him. Now with covid I have both my kids home basically teaching them and taking care of them all day as well. We live with my mother who has numerous health problems too and I do everything for her too. There is no way I could work right now as bad as I want and need to I'm just stuck and I feel helpless. I do get cash assistance that is supposed to end in December but by the time I give my mom her rent and pay my phone and insurance I'm flat broke again.
I don't know what else to do and my kids are such good kids they deserve to have some gifts to open on Christmas and I know I can't get them anything it breaks my heart. I was reading about the angel tree program and wondering if I could sign up for help with Christmas? If that is a possibility please email me back or call me. If you can't help me maybe you can point me in the right direction. Thank you.
