My name is Sean. I live in Yucaipa CA. Southern California Edison is my utility provider. I'm disabled, low income and I have small children in the home. I went to get help from community actions in San Bernardino on May 16 for the Edison bills. They pledge a 1,000 to my account.
But Edison still will not turn my power back on they are requesting 1,500,00 more. Without power on I cannot use my medical equipment and my house is all electric.
My kids are getting sick and the pain I have is now getting worse from not using my medical equipment. I need help and I don't know what to do. Please guide me in the right direction there has to be something that can be done. Is this illegal on Edison's part. Thank you

Re: SCE bill
Hi Sherri,
There are a couple options for you. Southern California Edison provide programs for struggling families to keep their electric on, and look here for help with SCE bills.
In addition, since you live in San Diego, there are many places that help low-income families with utilities. Whether a church, or government office, we have them listed here at San Diego assistance programs.

Re: SCE bill
Hello, my name is Sherri. I live in San Diego and I need some help with my SCE electric bill. I am a single mom of 2 boys and I work as an aide at a school district. I am struggling to make all my bills. I need info or help paying off my electric bill from SCE before they shut it off. So, if all possible I need some help this month.

Re: SCE bill
Good afternoon:
My son lives in the State of California in Hesperia. SCE has shut off his power. The house is entirely electric. He has no heat (temperatures fall from 19 degrees to 21 degrees at night) can't cook his food or take a warm shower.
SCE wants my son to pay $1200.00 bill to restore power to the home. This $1200.00 bill is in someone else's name that does not live at the residence. After much resistance from SCE my son offered to just pay the $1200.00 so he can have heat, eat and maintain personal hygiene. However, he had to request payments because he is currently unemployed. SCE flat out denied his request stating they were sorry he was freezing at night, but the $1200.00 had to be paid.

SCE bill
I have a disconnection notice from SCE and today is the last day to pay! Also SWG shut my gas off on the 26th the day after it was due. Well Friday I got another bill from them that showed I had a deposit credit that paid the bill and part of the new bill and I only owe $5.56.
If they had reviewed my account they would have seen that I had that deposit credit coming and they could have kept my gas on! During that time we had a snow storm!! I feel it was unfair of them to shut me off during the winter time!
