Re: Recovering from a car accident

Hello, my name is Sol.
I was wrongfully terminated from my job on May 30th of this year and a week later, I was involved in a serious car accident that totaled my car and hurt my back. I applied for unemployment but they are not able to tell me when I will be able to receive my benefits. I applied on June 5th and have since called the Unemployment Assistance office incessantly, but with no luck. I haven't received income in over one month. I don't have enough money for rent, utilities, phone bills, and my debt on the car that was totaled since I am recovering from the back injury from the car accident.
I didn't have GAP insurance so my lender is harassing my phone asking me to continue paying my monthly car note until I pay off the $16,000 left on the car lease. I've had a consultation with a debt relief lawyer but he informed me that applying for bankruptcy costs over $2,000 in fees. I only have money for food because I was able to get food stamps rather quickly. If I'm not able to pay my rent this month, I will be at risk of eviction and homelessness. The government is unwilling to help or expedite the issue with my unemployment, they simply gave me other resources like needhelppayingbills.com. Any amount of help will be very appreciated. My zip code is 32506. I've called Salvation Army, local churches and mosques with no luck. If you know of any more resources I'd love the help. Thank you.

In addition to apply for short term rent help in Spokane, also apply for disability. Between those two options they can hopefully hold you over for 6 months. Taking a positive view, it sounds like you are lucky to be alive after that bad car accident. Also, the Spokane agencies may not only have some funds for your housing, but they may also have other basic items such as food, clothing, and more. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... tance.html

Recovering from a car accident

Post by Bobbie13 »

I need assistance with my rent for July and August. I am a 27 year old single mother of a three and a half year old little boy. I’ve had the same job for 8 years while studying in school as well for the past two years, until I was in a terrible car accident on May 15, 2013. My left leg from the knee down was completely crushed. With numerous rods and pins and a bionic ankle, I’ll be able to work again in about six more months, until then though, I get no help whatsoever, not even child support. I would greatly appreciate any help you could possibly offer me and my son.
