Hi,
You may want to start at a veteran focused organization, as many offer guidance (if not financial help) to vets. Here are some Iowa focused options. There is even a Iowa Department Veterans Affairs that has benefits, and the info is here. https://dva.iowa.gov/benefits-assistance/benefits

As far as other assistance in Iowa, for really any low-income person (veteran or not), there are many local resources. Find there here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html

Don't know where to start, so I'll be honest here. My pup and I moved back to my home state of Iowa or we faced being homeless where we lived. I am a disabled, low income vet. I get no help from the V, I fall between the cracks type of veteran. My funds are limited, I can pay my water bill of $80.00, but don't know if I'll have enough for food or gas.
Finally got my medical coverage, having problems paying my us cellular bill of $88.00. I can pay a small amount of $$ , then see about a payment plan. I paid half of my car insurance, (82.00) I have requested help with budgeting and my finances and home health services from Wendy of milestones, in Ottumwa. No face to face meeting yet!
I am schizoid-affective, bi-polar type 1, from 1996-2008 from being in the service. I lived in Centerville, Iowa and am a honorably discharged vet. I've been a mental health advocate myself. Now, I require advocacy services, where is it?
Am 63 years young. I would like food stamp assistance please and other IA benefits that help veterans. My common-law wife Of 24 years( Monica and I are split up, she got her family inheritance and her 30 year. Our son Christopher is 3 strikes you're out felon of Missouri correctional facilities, moved to Ell paso, Tx. They love to party and do cocaine in Juarez, Mexico.
Christopher d. Vaughn also has an outstanding 7 year warrant for fat for an invalid driver’s license in Iowa. ( Christopher is a dangerous violent narcissist! ) if, he finds out I told on him and his mom, he will actively come after me and my pup. He has threatened to harm me before, he threatened to kill me when he was a teenager
I filed a restraining order at that time. I have desire to file a divorce, and get protective, restraining order against these 2 individuals. Need to confer with a lawyer. Need help, require assistance, please!!
