Hi,
We are not medical people and can't say what someone may or may not offers based on a certain condition. But Prokera is obviously part of the eye and some non-profits may assist, and look here for free eye type care. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... _and_.html

Any charities offer free Prokera surgery?

Post by Wei »

Hello,
I am 50 years old and I lost my tears 7 years ago. I also have a painful condition called filamentary keratitus. It is excruciating pain. When I cry, nothing comes out of my eyes.
I had a procedure called MiBo-flow, and unfortunately, my eyes got worse. Now I need another surgery which is often called Prokera. I suffer from both Meibomian gland dysfunction and loss of tears.
I've had many treatments done to my eyes, but unfortunately, they have not worked. I am told by doctors that a procedure called amniotic membrane (AKA "Prokera") may help me. It costs around $1800 each eye. My insurance will not cover it, unfortunately.
I would like to know if you could direct me to a charity group that can provide financial assistance.
