To Whom It May Concern;
I am a resident of Tewksbury, MA for the past 12 years and had been referred to St. Vincent de Paul from our local church, St. Williams.
I am a widow (lost my husband to cancer two years ago) and have two adult children. I am currently on SSDI for depression, anxiety, etc., but would like to try going back to work ASAP. I had a wonderful career in Human Resources Management for years but due to many losses of loved ones, became unable to work about 4 years ago.
Currently, I've found myself in a terrible financial situation - partly due to paying for various services, including the repair of my car, and being scammed out of money. I live in a rural area so it's very hard to get around without a vehicle.
I am also facing foreclosure on my home and also paid a substantial amount of money to a firm representing themselves as a firm that could help me and, again, was scammed out of more money.
Right now, I have been looking for a part-time job but without a vehicle, it's very difficult.
I do get some food stamps every month ($189) but have almost no food and no money to buy any until my food stamps come in on the 15th of the month.
I am extremely overwhelmed with my current situation especially being Christmas time. My children (2) are young adults but I have no money to get any presents. I do have some other family members but I also lost my mom to cancer last February so this holiday is very difficult as the first Christmas without her.
I would be ever so grateful for any assistance you could provide or refer me to.
I am facing foreclosure on my home with an auction date of December 21, 2019 and have tried getting a HAMP modification from my mortgage serviced. They have denied me for the wrong reasons but am running out of time and have nowhere else to go. I have looked at possibly filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy but cannot afford an attorney after the last attempt. I understand, also, that there are some resources out there that force these mortgage companies to work with people like me on modifications under HAMP but haven't.
I can be reached at.
Thank you for your consideration.

Note disability does not pay enough to cover a mortgage cost. Several hundred dollars per month to low one thousand may get. SSI not enough to live on, so need to find other solutions. In the meantime, use this for mortgage help in Washington.

I have had numerous procedures and surgeries on my back. Over the last few years my condition has worsened and I have had to leave my job that I was at for about ten years, which allowed us to pay our mortgage. I tried to go back to school this last year but my condition has gotten so bad that I can barely leave the house.

Hi
We live in St. Charles County Missouri. I'm disabled & receive SSDI, My husband has been out of work since November, the 2nd time in 1 year & receives unemployment. We have been trying to stay on top of the payments on our home mortgage, the utilities & COBRA medical insurance by using our savings & we cashed out our 401K but we have exhausted all of that now, we received a disconnection notice from the water company PWSD #2.
We have some things we are trying to sell and hope that it's enough for us to pay the rest of the April bills but we won't have enough for the May bills or mortgage and are hoping your organization can help us or give us some direction on who to contact for assistance. I'm in my 45's & my husband is 55, we've both worked all our lives & have not been in this position before. We can't afford to be foreclosed on.

Hello-
I was just fired from my job and now have absolutely no money which is causing me to go into foreclosure, loss of utilities, no food etc. I've been told I should apply for disability, but I don't have time for the process. I will be homeless in less than a month, not to mention have no food. I'm very depressed and need assistance immediately. Please let me know what I am able to do!

The state of Indiana runs a number of foreclosure mediation programs, government mortgage assistance, hotlines, and other support and services. Find information here.
http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/ind ... _fore.html There are options like the Indiana Hardest Hit Fund as well as the free foreclosure hotline for phone numbers and other free counseling.

I have a s/o who has a disability and may have to go under social security. I will most certainly appreciate any leads.

We do not understand how could ex husband not sign papers? What did divorce attorney say. You need to force him to sign any type of modification papers or forms. In the meantime, look into a wide variety of New Jersey mortgage assistance programs and solutions. Most are offered by the state, such as the Homeownership Preservation Refinance Program (HPRP) 1-800-446-7467 or the New Jersey Mortgage Mediation Assistance Program.

We do not communicate via phone here at our organization. Only emails. If you want to speak to someone regarding your mortgage, we suggests a not-for profit HUD counselor. Most of them offer free foreclosure prevention and assistance, and their advice is very effective. Tens of thousands of people have their homes saved every year from a wide variety of HUD foreclosure programs and agencies. Offices are located in every state.

Many mortgage hardship programs are offered by states, non-profits, and HUD agencies. We have comprehensive list of mortgage and foreclosure prevention programs, by state, on the main site. And every month more and more local government are adding to the options. Read about state mortgage assistance programs and resources.

Re: Foreclosure court date

There are several mortgage and foreclosure programs in California, and they support Orange County homeowners too. You can try mediation, or the new hardest hit fund in California. Even at one time California implemented a foreclosure moratorium, trying to slow down the pace and number of filings.

I live rent free on family land, have been here over 45 years, owned by a sister. which is going into foreclosure.I have bad credit. No job due to illnesses and no savings. No one to take me in.My adult son lives with me but he is laid off from work and has no cash. His unemployment is pending, he only made about $8,000 all year so it wont be enough to get us even rent payments somewhere even if it is approved. And if we cant find work when unemployment is used up were homeless again because we cannot pay rent,so we need our own home. We are trying to get an interview for food stamps. We have no government cash help and do not qualify it seems. I asked help from churches, acquaintances.no help. I am terrified.I found a cheap house under 5,000 dollars but cannot get the cash, not even 5.00 dollars for it. With no cash,no job,no place to go,do you know of anyone who will buy me that house? It is a century 21 sale, .We would gladly pay it back when we regain employment.Or do you know of any guaranteed help anywhere.? My utilities are in disconnect warning.

Re: About to foreclosure

I think one of the things that most homeowners do not realize is that they can often get free legal advice to help with foreclosure and debts, such as payday loans and consumer credit. Most of the firms are government funded, but regardless, they have helped thousands of homeowners over the years save their homes, avoid evictions, etc. If you were laid off from your job, they can even ensure you are entitled to full unemployment and that your legal rights are protected.

Sorry to hear this story. What state or area of country do you live in? Millions of people are losing their homes to foreclosure, and it is sad and difficult. Have you ever hear of foreclosure mediation programs? These are programs in which a homeowner will work with a trained mediator, who will work with both your lender and you to try to find a solution to your housing issue or crisis. The mediation programs exist in most states in the country.

I have 2 teens as well that have been looking for employment so they too can contribute to our household to no avail have they been able to find employment. My husband has numerous applications out but no leads. We are behind 2 months on our utilities our electric is due to be cut off tomorrow the 29th, 3 months behind on our mortgage we are in foreclosure, now car insurance is going to be canceled which will be another issue I will not be able to drive to work when the restaurant does open.

My children will not be able to drive to seek employment nor my husband if he ever gets a call back from the several applications he has put out. We have always been self sufficient, and have always figured a way to stay on top of our bills even when uexpected circumstances arose, we are law abiding citizens, we pay our taxes, and have never lived beyond our means and have always helped those less fortunate or in need maybe not in monetary but in other ways. I do not want to lose our home to this foreclosure.

I earn extra money on the weekends doing respite care for my physiccally and mentally challenged sister not so much for the money but to help my parents out and give them a break so they can get a little repreive and rest my sister Maxine is not very easy to take care of. ince I volunteer to help my parents out my Mother said I should apply for respite and get paid for it so after several years of her asking I finally did the money isn't much but does help and helps my parents as well getting a break. Now my downstairs bathroom has caved in there is some kind of leak under the house and can be difficult at times walking my sister up and down the stairs so she can use the restroom. Randy my husband had crawled under the house and started to fix it but unfortunatlly was in a car accicident he was a passenger and is now gong to therapy 3 times a week he has issures with his back neck hips and shoulder he had titanium put in his neck several yearsago for deteriating dics in his neck. We are now with a huge whole in the bathroom floor and I have tried to cover it up as best I can until the work on it can be finished. I try to keep positive and pray eveyday and not let on to our children how we are slowly drowning, and can loose everting we have like so many other families in need. My husband and I thoug still continue random acts of kindness for those less fortunate. we just need a little help keeping us above water, saving our home from the foreclosure we face, until that job is finally found for Randy and ur children. Thank you for listening

Sept. 30, 2010

Good Morning:

I was up early looking for help to heat my home this winter. I am also about to lose my home to foreclosure.

My husband is a stroke victim,
I have no income,
I owned a day care business and close it in Sept 2009 due to the slow economy as business was done so much, and I couldn't pay the bills or debts.
I am in early stages of foreclosure, but trying to work out a plan to save my home,

I am extremely concern because I have no means of paying for heating oil this season!

Can you please help me?

I live in New Rochelle, NY 10801

My grandchildren who are twins, their ages 4yrs old and October is here and the weather can get cold soon.

I need help!
