Fixed income

Post by ErinFisher »

I live on a fixed income and pay 600 for rent, 85 dollars car insurance and food and gas, leaving me with nothing. I cant seem to get qualified for food stamps and I am deaf living on disability. Applied for jobs everywhere however hearing well prepared individuals cant find work, let alone me with a disability. I am about to get evicted from an apartment as that income is not high enough, and I am currently living because I cant pay the monthly rent and I cant find a cheaper rent. Roomates are out of the question since I have looked and spoke to every friend I have. I am out of options, please help!

With that income seems like you should be able to qualify for food stamps. I wonder why? What does agency/program say is reason for rejection? Sounds like your needs are extensive. Food stamps, gasoline vouchers, and other aid. I think maybe just navigate to the main site and look for all the programs and phone numbers listed there. It is need help paying bills. Thousands of phone numbers can be found there for people with fixed income and other financial hardships.

Why are the deposits so expensive? That seems to be very unreasonable to me. A deposits should be less money. Call those utility and water companies and verify those amounts. Call your local community action agencies and ensure those are reasonable amounts. Some of the agencies to call in Rockdale Georgia are listed here. Call the Partnership for Community Action at 404-929-2500. The main service they run is known as the Family Support program. Each year thousands of people are able to get help and aid from it.

I read your site and I am confused as to where to turn. I am very desperate. Any financial help would be a massive help.

I live alone in San Juan Capistrano and am on a fixed income. I live in a senior community, 55+. I am 65 and disabled since 2009, multi disability and mobility issues. I worked from 1978 - 2005 contributing taxes etc. My health has declined dramatically from constant stress.

I do get SSDI, my rent is $897 and my check is $1005. I have no savings, no investments, no property.

This was the only housing I could find in 2012 and the lowest price. Or a 6-10 year waiting list for other properties, which were higher or I had to be 66 years old to qualify.

I pay for Medicare, I do not qualify for Medicaid or food stamps. I take many medications and one is too expensive at $96 a month co-pay, so I go without. I live alone and have no family at all.

I owe personal loans to friends for the amount of $2,550. They are kind to wait. I cannot work at all due to pain and chronic fatigue. I incurred a lot of debt from my last 12 year relationship, (as there is no common law in California receiving any help. I was left for homeless in 2009 and in severe debt and very ill).

I am in ER at least every 2-3 months..severe migraines and other health complications. $50 co-pay. Mission hospital sent me to collections for $25. I am deeply in debt. and owe on 3 credit cards, I have contacted them, but they only offer collections. I cannot totally ruin my credit or cannot qualify for another apartment, but cannot pay their fees or my rent.

Credit counseling want $50 and a $35 monthly fee which does not help me at all to reduce my credit cards and will destroy my credit.

My severe financial struggle has increased my disability symptoms. I do not qualify for extra help. I am on a pre-waiting list for section 8 in Orange County California since 2/12 and have no idea how long I will wait. I am on a waiting list for disabled housing since 2012.

I cannot buy all my medicines. I cannot pay my bills at this time. I cannot pay rent for December. I cannot pay my vehicle registration due December 31 for $91.

I cannot pay my credit card which is $124 a month due now, they will not work with me at all and harass me around the clock if I am one day late. I am trying to get credit help with them. I need a cpap machine for breathing due to sleep apnea and other complications. I cannot afford the co-pay of $139.50. This causes severe chest pain and fatigue, as I cannot sleep well. I applied for hardship to the company, they have just put my paperwork on a pile and I have been waiting months. I have asthma.

I am under treatment of 7 specialists for psoriatic, arthritis, psoriasis, costochondritis, arthritis chest wall, shoulders, tendons, difficulty breathing, acid reflux, TMJ,
I.C..bladder disease, no cure asthma, high blood pressure, and more.

I also have Epstein Barr, Toxoplasmosis, Migraine, chronic pain disorder, knee malacia patella, cysts in knees, arthritis, and tendon inflammation (difficulty walking) and more. I also have cervical dystonia, herniated discs neck and lower back, bone spurs, arthritis, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia.

I so badly need help this month and January too. I do not want to lose my apartment. I have nowhere else to go, or move. My health is so bad, moving would put me in hospital. In California a room rental is $850-1,000 and not conducive for a disabled person. Which makes sense for me to remain here until section 8 comes through or disabled housing. I need quiet and cool as heat exasperates. All my specialists are here and I would have to completely change my insurance if I moved, as it is for South Orange County CA, only.

Sincerely,

Please respond, I have nobody to turn to for help.

Hello, I'm disable an in need of low-income house to accommodate my disability and to provide assistance for my two kids as well. I have been trying all over Memphis to find a program for low or fixed income with a disability housing program forever. I'm currently stay in a two bedroom apartment with love ones.
I have a degenerated disc disease, being diagnose with depression, have arthritis in both knees for which I receive shoots in both knees. I been diagnose with motor neuropathy due from neck fusion with left me with nerve damage to both feet legs arms and hands. I'm on bending knees for help. My disability enables me to feel normal at anything because I have chronic pain. A where I stay is on the second floor in apartments. And it have brought on more stress and depression having to climb stairs.
I tried HUD but was denied and to be told by having a section 8 voucher is the only way I can be help. Have drove to give up. The only reason now I have enough strength to continue searching is my two kids for which I barely see due to my current living arrangements. And it's not helping being away or limited to having a place where I can have some kind of peace of mind.
I have also tried getting a place with just the income I receive from disability. But I'm but down daily because now everywhere asking for you to make 3 times the rent. But yet they accepting housing voucher as an incentive for the fixed income place. So I'm reaching out to you to help me with guidance or details on options you may have to provide. I even wrote to the Senator and to receive notice back stating my situation wasn't anything they can help with but yet they have approve HUD with funding for these program's. Please help me. You are my last resort for life. Thank you for this opportunity to share.

A good way to supplement an income is to find additional job opportunities. As there are tons of positions out there. That will help you make it by. Find employment working at home, and both you and your husband can do this.

My husband is a double amputee and I myself have extensive medical issues. We recently had to move from our home of 4 years because of a bad landlord that left the house unsafe due to housing code. He basically has evicted us because he refused to alleviate these issues. In doing so, he put us in a financial hardship with deposit and such. Because we live on a fixed disability income check we are having problems paying our necessary bills. If there is any way to help us please let us know.

Yes, my name is Delilah. I read on your page that you may be able to help with bills. I'm on a fixed income. I have a mortgage payment that I'm having problems with at least last few months. This month is also going to be late. Do you have anyway or anything that can be done to help me just for a few months until I can find work and get more of my fixed income. I’m disabled and have been trying to find work, very hard when disability is in my back and most all companies hiring expect you to lift.
I’m not very good with talking on  a telephone I do prefer emailing or texting. But most of all face to face. If you can be any help to me from your business or if you have another place I can contact it's greatly appreciated. Please let me know I would really appreciate it because I have nowhere else to live or move too. My fixed income check doesn't go far. Thank you so much for your time and have a wonderful day.
