I'm a single mom of an 8 year old daughter. Never applied or received any government assistance before. I had to leave my job 2 months ago due to family issues and I have fallen behind on this and last months rent and electric bill totaling $1800. I do have a job lined up in October and landlord both gave me an extension on payment but time has run out and I could really use help to not have to leave our apartment or have electric turned off. Thank you so much for your consideration.

I live in West Boca, Florida and have fallen behind on my rent. I have two kids going to school in Boca and might get evicted if I don’t pay my past 2 months rent. Work is slow right now and I can’t keep up with all my bills. I desperately need help. I moved from Massachusetts and don’t have any family in Florida, please help or direct me to a program that can help us, Thank you. God bless.

I need a place to live or some kind of help to pay the rent right now. I'm living with my son but he got a new baby and they need more room. In the last four years have been very difficult for me to get a steady job and earn enough money to pay rent and meet all expenses. Currently I have 62 years of age. I would appreciate any information on organizations or places I can go to apply for assistance.

Good Afternoon,
I need information or referrals for my family. My fiancée is a County Sheriff outside of Houston, injured on the job, and is now on leave from his job without any worker's comp, injured-on-duty disability, or regular disability. He has had no income since January, and has to move out of his house by December 1st. As of now, he has no income, and no place to live after he moves out. Is there any help for him here? Or any suggestions on where he can go to receive help? He is running out of time, and we are urgently searching for solutions. Please email me at this address. Thanks so much for your time. I hope to hear from you soon!

Re: Rent assistance for family with autistic child

Post by Odilla »

I just got back to work after 2 years. We are losing our house and will be homeless in 13 days. We have 2 young autistic children so I can not let this happen. We can not get through to our local DHS and Catholic Charities in Minneapolis St. Paul was very rude (they said our situation was not that bad and we did not qualify for the $50 that they usually hand out). I can make monthly payments but we need assistance with the down payment and 1st month's rent and we need it NOW! Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Illinois and currently have not income after losing my job the end of April 2012, and because I have not income I do not qualify for most of the assistance that is offered. I left an abusive employer who has been fighting my unemployment. My savings is gone and those places I have talked with for help say that since I don't have an income, they are unable to help me. I have an adult son living with me who was born with heart problems and has applied for disability, but even DHS will not help him with money or a medical card to get the health care he needs. We are on the verge of being evicted because I don't have the money for August rent. What is a family supposed to do when they are not working, have not been able to get work, and have no family who can financially or due to space cannot take them in?

Rent assistance for family with autistic child

Post by Biden »

I need help in finding a place to live in Detroit and for rental assistance as well. I have 4 children and one of them is autistic and my youngest child is 2 months old so as for now I stay at my parents house taking care of my children and my husband is working but he's only earning $7.50 an hour. We need our own space, so we can make my daughters therapies easier without distraction.

Looking for rental assistance help in Richmond, California or nearby. My husband is working and he is on the verge of eviction/homeless and i am pregnant. We are currently residing in a local apartment community and we are trying to get into an apartment, we just need the first initial help with expenses to get into a rental unit, so money for deposit and first months rent.

A few things. Many landlords are willing to work with renters if you have funds coming in the future. The landlord doesn't want to go through the hassle of evicted someone and needing to rent the unit again. As far as agencies for Marion County Florida, we have that covered too. Use this links to find agencies that focus on all of Marion County Florida and the organizations listed can help with rent, utilities, housing, etc.
Now as far as places that specialize in rent help, use this for the local resources to call. These places almost strictly focus on rental and housing issues.

My rent was due on March 23rd, and I thought that I was getting my refund check this week, but I was just informed that because I am only part-time, my funds will not be released until after I start my classes in May. So I will not have any rent money until then, thus violating the promissory note that my landlord made me sign. There are no agencies that will help me because I do not have children living with me, so I am at a lost one what to do now. I live in Marion County, FL where they have nothing for me. If I do not pay my rent , then I will lose everything that I have worked so hard for, including access to the internet to attend my classes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We really need much more information in order to provide you with any type of rent assistance information. Like what state recently moved to. What school as they may offer financial aid. And more. In the meantime use this for rent help and explore the resources on the site.

That is great that landlord gave you some time. Call these different Springfield rent programs for housing aid. Some emergency programs may be provided too. Oftentimes disabled get priority, and especially if have kid s too. So that may be helpful in the application process.

That is great that daughter has been helping during this time frame. Are you on government disability, or unemployment? That amount of money doesn't seem impossible to get. Also call Salvation Army, church, or other charities in your area. A more extensive listing of programs in Ohio can be found here, at this resource. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/ohi ... grams.html
Basically the state of Ohio offers dozens of heating and utility assistance programs for the low income, unemployed, and others in the community and state of Ohio.

As you indicated, first you need to pay your rent and other bills before looking into certificate. Maybe can apply for some student loans for those education expenses, or maybe some type of grant program. Here are the Conneticut assistance programs and what you need to get ahead on those bills and rent. There is an option known as the RAP in Connecticut, which can provide emergency rental assistance. Yes, funding is always limited, but you do need to just keep calling around.

I have tried to get funding through Public Health, Ministerial Association. Right now, no one has the funding. I even have a call into Department of Family Services to see what kind of assistants we qualify for; if any. We need help. Please help!
