Hello
I'm a veteran who is disabled and on SSI. The 674 dollars a month I receive will not allow me to cover the cost of repairing my furnace. I contacted DHS in Benzie Country Michigan. I was told that the SER / Home repairs for unsafe or non-working furnaces was only for those who own their own homes and not for those who are renting. Is there anywhere I can get any help to repair the furnace (outside of the landlord). Thank you for any help you can provide.

Is the person a veteran? If so, have you heard of Operation Homefront? This is a national charity organization for veterans and military personnel. While they are located in Texas, they operate across the country and provide veterans with emergency financail aid for bills, housing expenses, food, medications, and more. 210-659-7756

I don't know if you will be able to help my brother or not but I am desperate to get help for him. His name is John and he is a disabled veteran raising our deceased sister's
son. He has kidney failure, heart failure, and COPD. He is receiving disability and this is his only source of income. They are living in a mobile home in Arnold, MO. Their furnace needs repair and they are trying to keep warm by using the oven on the stove. He cannot afford to have the furnace repaired. I am hoping you can help.I know you help low income people in this area. My brother does not have a computer.

I was robbed of that dream.I depended on a person that took everything I had. I have no money to move back home or have any money to get a home. I am in school, but I really need help to get back to my family. I was DCFS kid then I was adopted. The mother that gave life to me again passed away. So now I am looking for work with the military or any job I can get. I know I'm not the only one with this problem. I am just wondering who can help me. I will work for what is giving to me.
