Re: Motel needed in Alabama as I am homeless

Hi Jonathan,
Motel help not common (only often in dire circumstances as motels/hotels are costly). Even more so if you need a dog friendly place. But have you tried any of the organizations in Marshall County AL that help with rent?
As some of them may have options, even including rehousing.

Get checked into a motel somewhere in Albertville, Alabama. You can give me a call as desperate, please.

Can you stop the eviction? Maybe that is the first thing to try. As there are eviction prevention programs in the area as listed here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... rehou.html

My husband & I have just recently moved to Houston & we're living in a weekly pay motel. I'm putting in applications for jobs but nothing so far. We're running out of money to pay our rent and will be homeless without a voucher. We have enough for one more week.
I read that you help people with hotel and motel vouchers. I'm 60 years, old and my husband is 62 years old. What I'm asking is could you help us to get a voucher ASAP so that I can keep looking for a job and my husband is going to be filing for his social security this month. Please help us.

Hi Ebony,
Sorry to read that. Since a DV victim, and also need a place to stay with your 2 daughters, the Salvation Army is probably a good option. As they have emergency hotel vouchers as well as help women impacted by DV. The Salvation Army also has shelters and other programs for homeless people in case the vouchers for a hotel are not available anymore. Look here for details on Salvation Army hotel vouchers.

Hotel or motel vouchers for the homeless please

Post by SouthernGirl »

Hello, I appreciate you taking time out of your day to assist me and my loved ones a hotel voucher. I am reaching out because my family and I had to leave our house in May of this year and we can no longer reside with family members and have been informed we have to leave in a week. If there are any programs that offer assistance for a hotel to help us relocate into a home as soon as possible. I understand we are limited to certain programs due to us all being adults but, my brother is partially blind and my mother is disabled so we cannot individually go to shelters on our own. If we could even get Hotel vouchers I'd be very grateful. Again, thank you for helping and whatever can be offered will be greatly appreciated.

Hello My name is Ebony and I was just recently a domestic violence victim with me and my 2 daughters with one of them being attacked along with me. I didn't anticipate this happening ever and especially at this time and now we are homeless and need a hotel voucher. This has definitely put a financial strain on me and my family and with bills coming due I am afraid I won't be able to afford a hotel room alone. I also need medical treatment and I just can't afford to go and pay for the treatment since we will be homeless.

Hi Leah
While we are not sure if a voucher will pay for a dog friendly room, especially a pitbull as many people have the wrong impression about that breed. Plus it may just be hard to find a dog friendly place. But that being said, here are some programs that may give an immediate voucher for a room. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... chers.html

Good morning,
I hope every ones morning is going well.
My name is Leah and I'm recovering from a life threatening illness that's resulted in my homeless experience with my pitbull. I am seeking a free voucher to pay for a hotel room this week. My brakes are starting to not stop me so I could use some help. As apart of my recovery I choose to be of service to others, and a voucher to pay for some or all of a hotel will help me there. It will also me to be able to help others, well it's my medicine. With so many suffering I must do all that I'm able, to continue with my recovery and be of service to others.
Would you please help me and our community?

Am homeless and need a hotel voucher now

Post by Ruby »

Hello I am 57 years old, homeless in San Jose CA, and have several serious health issues. I recently proposed to my girlfriend of over 40 years, she is also homeless, currently housed in The Extended Stay Hotel thru Life Moves. Where can we get a voucher to pay for the hotel which will also be out honeymoon.
We also need money for the fee for a marriage license. It is $80 and while this is not a huge amount of money it is still out of our reach. Are there any services that can assist us paying for the hotel room right now and in becoming married?
Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.

Hi Kimberly and all,
There are many places that may give out free motel vouchers, but generally they are only when shelters are full or a local disaster occurs in your community. But some places, like Salvation Army or Social Services, may offer them as well for women facing abuse (that need a safe place to live) or even more rare is for a new job such as a location move that Kim wants. Anyhow, we have many resources listed for information on free motel or hotel voucher programs. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... chers.html

Hello
My name is Kimberly, I am inquiring about getting some assistance for a motel voucher. I was recently displaced from my residence in Harris county. I came to stay with family in Rockport, but was turned away once I arrived. I have a job lined up in Alabama that starts the 27th of this month, but have no where to stay until then and can use a voucher for a hotel or motel there. I am currently at ONO hotel in Rockport, however do not have the money to continue to stay. If there is anyone that can help I would be happy to repay the amount once I am in Alabama working.
Thank you for your time

I’m sending this email for my family member who is currently living in hotel space with her children and she needs a new voucher.
The Salvation Army has been contacted by leaving voicemail on the “need financial assistance” option which tells you to call a different number that sends you back to the same voicemail. Two(2) voicemails to be exact was left. Still no return call. According to your automated system, once the list fills up for the week the person/family in need will need to reach out the following week (Monday) at 08:30am. The money to get her out of the old hotel to and that would be for a new voucher that was set aside for security deposit for rental for housing has been depleted in hotel stay. So now it’s next to impossible to save money for security deposit for housing. I’ve been searching through your website and it states you can assist in helping. If the Salvation Army can’t assist please point in the right direction of who can assist.

Sorry to hear you have been staying in hotel rooms since 2020. The pandemic sadly caused lots of struggles for many. But there may be options for you. Look into free hotel stays for the homeless.

I have been unable to get paid this week and I am to the limit on people I can borrow money from.
From what I understand you help people with vouchers that are in hotels and/or help people get stable housing. If you can wire back and tell me what I can do to get help. I have already applied to our Florida but I have yet to be approved. If you could please help me I'm trying not to be completely homeless altogether.

hello, I have a 3-year-old daughter and we are currently homeless with nowhere to go. we have been living in hotels and some night with friends but it’s not permanent. I have a job I start work at the goodwill store...I searched programs and agencies and churches that help fund hotel vouchers to needy families for a new room and I thought to just reach out and see if I can find any resources...if you can or if you know any other programs that can help us I would so greatly appreciate. I am trying my best to keep on pushing but I feel like a complete failure...and I don't want to fail I want to succeed in life for the sake of my kids.

Hello,
I was referred by the city of woodland to contact you regarding emergency assistance with a hotel voucher. We have been displaced out of our home due to environmental health issues within the unit. Can you please contact me? At this point and time I have nowhere for my family to go and the residence had been red tagged so we cannot enter until repairs are made. Thanks so much in advance.
