Hi Tina
We sent info to the other person in this thread, but we will send you the same info. Here is a link to national and local school supply programs. Either may help you. But as far as disability specific programs, we are not aware of any. But also check with your local school district. Good luck. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... plies.html

Hello,
My name is Tina, I am in need of some help on paying for school supplies for my disabled sone. I have a shut off notice for my electric too My mother is living with me and she is 75 and has stage 3 lung cancer, stage 3 COPD and aspergulis, so all our money goes to her and not paying for school clothes or stuff for my kid. My husband is disabled as well as my son so it is hard. I am currently taking care of my mom. I work for her through a company, don't get that much money from that. My mom and my husband is getting SSI and SSDI.
Please, let me know if you can help.

We have all sorts of school supply programs listed, both national and ones local to Bexar County. They are listed here.
https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... plies.html
They will help 14 year old and younger, even down to pre-k as you indicate. Yes, we agree, school is critical and supplies are helpful for the youth.

Also a little boy he's 6 going to first grade. He is that is 4 going to pre k. The only reason I'm asking for help is because the only one that is working is my boyfriend I stay at home with my new born baby twins and i am also disabled, so both parents are struggling. I is really hard right now to buy what they need being disabled. We are barely making it with our bills so if you can please help us it would be a great blessing. Thank you so much for your time.

Well, not much we can do about the vehicle. Try a disability transport service.
As far as the school items, there are many places for help with school items, notebooks and other supplies. With 3 kids you will need a lot of supplies, so apply early. Find free school supplies.

Very stressed out my youngest has been put on hold for bladder issues till September. We so have a Walmart close. We live on disability. I can't even get vehicle to take kids to appointments. I really needs lot of help.

Yes, now is the time to seek out the items you need...as the drives start now. There may be special school supplies for disabled kids for a host of places. You also mentioned you have 4 kids. An organization will generally assist the entire family, provided you qualify and they have supplies. but find a list of resources here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... hool_.html

I am from Baltic close to Norwich. I was told you help with back to School supplies maybe clothes etc. I have 4 kids, 2 are disabled, and had to take on my fiancés 3 due to him getting custody. I have not yet been able to register them for school because I have no money to get the girls birth certificates but as soon as I register them I won't have money for School clothes or supplies. If you can help a disabled kid please email or call. Thank you so much.

Disabled parents can't pay for school supplies

Post by Chaz »

My wife and I are currently disabled and our benefits have been discontinued. We have three children that will begin school on August 6th and unfortunately are unable to provide them with the necessary school supplies or clothing at this time. Any help will be greatly appreciated. As we painfully have to ask for assistance we are usually ones to help others in need and are now found on the opposite end of the table.

Hello, I am a mother of 5 children about to go back to school with no school supplies and very few clothes!! I received assistance from your organization for Christmas so I figured I could ask for help again... I’m not working due to I’m disabled (still fighting to receive SSI).
We are very low income, my husband works but not always... If you have any suggestions or know where I could possibly get help I would appreciate it very much!!! Thank You.

Well, the school supplies are usually easier to get. There are many fund raisers held by the Salvation Army, local charities, and other groups too. So try them first of all, and ask for referrals when needed. Or you can find a number of free school supplies programs from charities, as they exist. The light bill help is more difficult, so ask those same charities for support. As if you have 5 kids maybe someone will help with school items and other goods.

I'm praying I will hear something before 1/10/16, the first day of school. Thank-you.

School supplies and backpack for disabled student

Post by King »

I’m a single mom and unemployed. My daughter is 6 and a half years old. She is about to start Preschool and she is very excited. She's going to a special needs school here in Sevierville, TN. We are lacking a backpack, lunchbox and supplies for her. I do not have anything I can sell to get these things for her. I would be most gracious if you could point me in a direction to help me getting the supplies she needs to start. Thank you all very much for the consideration and all your time and effort for your community. Have a blessed and wonderful & Happy Holidays.
