Hi Shareece
I guess on the positive you are OK post accident, but yes the insurance payment for an older car like that would be minimal. Here are some programs for each of these needs, including for a free replacement car in GA.
And here are the other financial assistance programs in GA, as listed by county and local area. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html
We also like this resources when dealing with the total loss of a vehicle from KBB with details here. https://www.kbb.com/car-advice/totaled-car/
But generally take a look at our site for other resources and just let us know if you need more help.

$1,000.00 of that money was used toward my rent to keep myself and my family from getting evicted from my apartment. Because of the accident, I became behind on bills, can't get food and now have no vehicle to transport myself and my disabled sons to work.
I am desperately in need of a vehicle and food. Could you please help?

I am desperate and need assistance with paying my household bills due to financial hardship. What resources are available for Gainesville, GA that can be provided? I need help with rent, food, utilities, and vehicle.

Hi Takira and others,
Since this thread covers both rent and food, another good option may be the Salvation Army. As they have dozens of centers in the state of Georgia, many of which have a food pantry and housing programs. So they often can address both needs, and location GA Salvation Army programs for the low income.

Hey, my name is Takira. I am from Atlanta. Asking for help with my rent which is 600. I currently stay in Forest cove - everyone know as four seasons apartments. Which been on the news lately. I am finically stable if I could get a little food assistance and apply that savings on food to my housing. I work for Wendy's. I current haven't been to work due to I have kidney problems. But I do work and just need help paying for these apartments and a little food.

Hi,
Yes, we have information on all types of help in Gwinnett county, whether for housing or other needs. Even disability if you are both disabled. Call around to places on this link, and we hope you (a public "servant") since you are at school find help. Look here for assistance in Gwinnett county.

Good afternoon,
I’m reaching out to see if you knew of anywhere in Gwinnett county GA that offered this help with evictions and provides other assistance. Single mother of a disable son & I work for the school district but due to his health issues lost a lot of work without time paid to take care of him. Now facing eviction by end of July or court one by end of August. Any information that you could possibly refer me with that would be greatly appreciate it. I’ve been looking everywhere. I did not find anything that can help me at the moment in Georgia. I don’t have any support here family or friends. Any help or referral to where to go for help would be so greatly appreciated.

Since you have a long list of needs, both financial and more, (including a place to live in Atlanta) maybe try Urban Ministries in the city. They offer many programs for struggling people, and read more on Atlanta urban ministries.

Hello my name is Lori and I live in Atlanta GA. I went to the social service office to see about the Lihep program but no one was there.
My circumstances are a bit unusual and lengthy to explain so I will try to convey as much as possible in as short of a version as possible.
I am 55 years old I'll be 56 in April. I had a stent placed in my heart approximately 5 years ago but in the last year I have more physical issues going on that are hindering my abilities in many ways. At the same time I'm having some issues with depression and anxiety that I feel like are situational due to the stress of just trying to figure out how to survive.
I have no insurance have not been under the care of a doctor and several months ago I wound up in the ER being diagnosed with COPD which ha s really changed my life. I need help from the State of Georgia and the state assistance programs.
Up until a couple of months ago I and my family including my ex-husband thought that when I turned 60 I could start drawing from my ex-husband's railroad pension which would have basically changed my life for the better. But he called to find out what all I needed to do paperwork was and found out that since I am a former spouse I can't draw his railroad retirement pension until I'm 62.
So now I'm having to deal with trying to apply for disability which we all know doesn't happen overnight. So in the meantime I need help so the LIHEAP program sounded like something that would help me until I can get on my feet. Basically my endurance and getting short of breath which has been very frustrating for me to come to terms with because I'm used to taking care of everything physically and financially I've been a single woman for over 20 years. But just little things get in the garbage cans out to the road for example have become a chore that wears me out. So I've decided that maybe working online from home is probably my best option and I am making steps in that direction.
I do receive food stamps thank God and my phone service is through the free government program. I was a caregiver for many years for an uncle who passed away after the covid epidemic started. After he passed his children sold the house that I was living in that had become a part of my pay and the man that bought it didn't want to rent it so I had to get out. I wound up living in a tent for several months in the summer last year which is how I finally got approved for food stamps.
Anyway I now live in a mobile home that still needs much repair that belongs to my ex husband who does not charge me any rent at this point due to my circumstances and the condition of the house. This is what I hope the GA assistance programs will help me with.
it's kind of half fixed so I just live in the good half. Anyway I knew there was no way to explain any of my stuff without it getting lengthy I'm so sorry, I'm finding myself so overwhelmed it's a shame there's not a place I can just walk into that can help me with everything all at once instead of having to go to a zillion different entities trying to get straightened out I feel like one of those people in the circus twirling the plates on the sticks.
I don't really know anything about the LIHEAP program but it just sounded like a program that could help me until I can start making some money again and gain back control of my life. My phone service for some reason does not work in the house I have to be outside somewhere so I'm going to give you my phone number and also my son who can reach me through Messenger online. I'll also give you my address I don't know if there's an application process if there's other things that you guys handle that you could help me with. I'm praying that this email reaches out to help me get busy getting better! Thank you in advance and have a blessed day!

To whom it may concern,
My name is Melissa Gonzalez I am a current resident in Gwinnett County Georgia. I have three children. I am currently going through a financial hardship and seeking utility assistance and mortgage assistance if possible as well. I would like to make an appointment with the partnership for community action but I have not been successful with doing so. I have tried to contact the phone number I found online for them and have tried calling several times but haven’t had any luck getting anyone on the phone. =The Salvation Army has shelters in Georgia. As well as transitional housing programs, including for mons with kids. Now can they house all 3 kids? We have no idea. But ask. Or heck, ask your mom for a little more time then TAKE ACTION and do something. In the meantime, find housing help in GA from the Salvation Army.

We are from New York and have no one here in Georgia.

My kids and I are currently living at my mom’s house, but my mom said we can’t stay with her anymore. That we have to get out because it’s causing her issues having us there. We are from New York and have no one here in Georgia.
So, we will literally be on the streets or in a Hotel that I can’t afford, I’ve called around and they are all expensive for weekly rates. Before I moved in with my mom I was living with my kids and their father, but I left him because the relationship was abusive and unhealthy. Living at my mom’s has not been much better, there is a lot of screaming and cussing every day, and my kids are upset every day. I am just asking for help getting into a house/apartment. After that I can pay myself. I have two jobs currently. I work at wild crab in Hiram Georgia and Ruby Tuesday in Dallas Georgia . I have been with wild crab for only one month, but I have been with Ruby Tuesday for 5 in a half year. I have proof of income, ID and Social Security, and proof of government benefits. But I don’t have a birth certificate for my youngest, it got lost after moving so much and what not. But I have his social security card, and I have the rest of my kids because and ss cards. I also don’t have bank statements because my ex and I shared a bank account, but I use a prepaid account through H&R Block for my direct deposit. I am about to get a bank account as soon as I can. I am praying every day that someone will help us, I’ve asked so many places & I don’t know what else to do. I’m scared we will end up in my car. If you can help or have any information that will help me please email me back or call me. Thank you so much.

Re: Property taxes in Georgia

Post by Saint Mark »

I am from southwestern Georgia and owe property taxes...I am on disability and so is my son (who is 16) he also gets special help at school. Because of multiple surgeries, I can only work minimal hours and disability isn’t enough to even scrape by. I was wondering what assistance is available for property taxes,  as I'm behind on my house payment, property tax, and already have a bank loan and a loan against my life insurance policy!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you for your time,

I live at Stone Mountain, Georgia. I have been borrowing money to buy Food, and pay my utility bills. I am on disability and finding it very hard to take care of myself. Everything is so expensive. I am trying hard to live without all the worries of paying for simple cost of living expenses. If I didn't have so many medical expenses, and I could get assistance with my utility bills, I feel that I could make it. Thanking you in advance for any help that you can give me.

Hello, we are in need of rental assistance... we are currently staying in a hotel... my brother is looking for a job but has since had no such luck and I receive social security payments... but our issue is that any apartment complex in the Atlanta area will not let you live there without having had a job for at least 1-2 months and we are out of funds for this month
My need is that I need financial assistance with paying my weekly rent or need help finding an apartment that does not require you to have income verification...

We have tons of programs for Spalding Georgia and the central part of the state. They are located here.

You have more than just a church to try. Also try a job center for employment needs.

If you need gas, electric, and rent help, that is a lot. There are charities in your region. Try the financial assistance programs in Cobb County for support. There are tons of them available. But your income may be too high for cash aid in Georgia.
