Re: Need 800.00 to save our home for property taxes
If he is behind 2 years, and only owes around $800, that is not bad. Seems reasonable that the assessor or a non-profit would help with that tax bill. Look here for details on property tax relief.

Re: Need 800.00 to save our home for property taxes
Hello,
I am trying to find out how my friend who is on SS Disability. He does not need much money, maybe $800 to $1000 with highest need right now property taxes. He is a senior citizen and needs roof help. He's behind in Property taxes 2 years. He has just received a letter from the Department of Public Safety which says they'll be returning in 15 days to ensure the property taxes are paid and roof fixed.
I don't know what's going to happen to him or his house. He is the rightful owner and has the deed to the house.
Please respond if you can help with like $800 or so or where I should turn to to help him. I've tried more than several government agencies but always have to leave a vmail with no call back.
At your convenience could you please respond to my email as I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: Resources for property taxes for seniors
Hi, My name is Carol. I am a 62 year old ingle woman. I am seeking help with my delinquent property taxes. I owe a 1979 mobile home and because of my disabilities I am unable to work. I had to apply for earlier social security retirement. Due to the long processing time of disability, 9-13 months.
My retirement check is $ 344.00 a month it barely pays my bills.
The Maricopa County treasure has sent me a final notice to pay my past due amount of $185.82 or they are going to auction my home in order to get the money they say I owe.
My home is paid for there is no mortgage. I do not own the land it sits on. I pay a month rental for the land.
I live alone with my 3 rescued cats and one rescued dog.
I am looking at possible hip and back surgery. which is common for seniors but will hurt my property tax savings even more.
I am terrified of loosing my home so I need property tax assistance. And ending up on the street with my animals.
If you can guide me in the right direction to find help saving my home. It would be greatly appreciated.
I have documents to prove what I am claiming is true.
Thank you so much for your time.

Re: Property Taxes
Not sure where to start...My property taxes are behind & I'm not sure how to catch them up. My house is falling apart around me. Not sure if I'm classified as a senior but I suppose so. I'm 62.
For the past ten years I have care for my mother with the past two years of her life on a constant level in order to keep her safe for various health reasons. My mother passed February 4, 2017. With her passing our income went with her, seems there are no resources available once she passed for a full time caregiver, or I'm not aware of any. I did contact the office of the aged, but was told to go to social services. But they will put a lien on my home (which isn't a fix).
I was unable to work outside my home, nor have time to run my online/home business. I was a full time caregiver to my mother & my 5 year old nephew since he was 5 months old that I have custody of.
I have been forced into early retirement which doesn't come in until the middle of next month and even with that no matter how I try to reconfigure the bills as well as property taxes there simply isn't enough to cover expenses. I don't know what to do or where to turn my property taxes are now two years behind (with high fees added every month).
When I began caring for my mother on a full time basis, I had money in the bank, but living cost, her personal care products, and all other expenses associated with her care seem to override her income. It wasn't until the last 3 months of her life that I received help through her doctor for personal products, but after my bank account was diminished to basic needs. With all of this my good credit crashed, soon I was unable to pay credit card bills, that I'd been using for living expenses. My finances are now a mess. Soon I will be facing property tax foreclosure. I don't know what to do or where to turn for real help & resources. I'm not looking for a handout, I will make not too high monthly payments on a loan to pay my property taxes, but have no idea where to apply knowing I wouldn't be approved. Are there any resources available to me so we don't lose our home? Thank you for your time.

Re: Agencies for property taxes
There are some exemptions you can look into by state too. They are listed here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tions.html
Generally they will decrease the amount of money you owe. But not all states have them, but you can try to get relied that way.

Re: Resources for property taxes for seniors
I'm a single senior mother of 17-year-old grandson I am caring for. My property taxes are delinquent soon to be foreclosed. My father pays no child support as he is on SSI. I don't understand the rules why, I have applied for SSI for my son. He has been ADHD, OCD, anxiety and depression since he's been in second grade and his school.
He has a 504 plan prior and IEP, circumstances do 2 quarts carrying on for close to five years to put me in the situation. We receive food assistance and Medicaid and nothing else. I'm not sure if I'm going to the right places for property tax help for the elderly. I'm 61 years old I have cosseting out of my son from abusive situation extremely worried about losing the house that my father left for my son and I because of $18,000 in taxes. I'm able now to support the house. But like to go and pay the previous is not possible without alone and my credit is bad due to court so I'm in a catch 22. Please give me any advice to help.

Re: Agencies for property taxes
I need help with my property taxes and want an agency to help me. They just sent me a notice of tax sale if I don't pay the past due amount. I am in dire need of assistance or I will lose my house. Social security has deemed me mentality and physically disabled for life but have denied me for disability. Can you please contact me very soon as I am needing this help. I don't want to lose my house and become homeless.

Re: Back property taxes
Is there any help regarding delinquent property taxes that are unpaid? My house will go to sheriff sale in 2019. My husband and I are both disabled and do not have the resources to pay for them going back that far. Any information is truly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Re: Agencies for property taxes
I own my home but my property taxes are behind. I have no income and need help from your agency. I'm under a doctor’s care for brain tumors & I also have scar tissue on my larynx from being on life support from a childhood car wreck. I went to social services but they require me to sign a paper for a lien on my home that I purchased with my childhood annuity settlement. I don't know what to do or where to turn. I have several animals that I have to be here to care for on a daily basis. I have researched resources. My grandmother pays my electric but is on a fixed income & is hardly able to cover her own expenses. Are there any real programs available until I can get well & help myself?

Re: Agencies for property taxes
I am looking for help paying my property taxes in MT from your agency. My husband is disabled and I have filed for disability. I have degenerative disk disease.
He is the only one with an income of 724.00 a month and 500.00 goes to a bankruptcy and most of the rest to heat and electric that leaves us with about 60.00 a month. This Christmas eve we had two 35 foot trees come down and crushed our car and put a hole in our roof and we have no way to fix it.

Re: Property Taxes
Property taxes for 2016 past due and I am not able to pay before 12-31-16. I have been paying on all past due bills and I only bring home 200-250 per week. I have tried to save all year but other bills were more pressing.
The 2017 property tax is due but not past due yet. If I can't get some help for what's past due it will double and I can't pay that. I got a letter from the tax collector taped to my door in September stating I must pay by December 31 or my trailer will be put up for sheriffs sale. Once I get my income tax refund next year I can pay the next year of taxes but right now that won't help me in time. Please contact me ASAP and let me know if there is anything that can help me. My son and I thank you for any help.

Re: Back property taxes
Hello,
I am currently working as an advocate for for a resident of Englewood. He owes $850 dollars in back property taxes to the city that must be paid by December 31st or his house will go to auction. We are exploring every option, but time is running short. Any help or referrals you can give me and he would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Re: need help for property taxes
I am inquiring about assistance for my aunt who has been denied disability from the social security administration and is currently unable to work. She is currently behind on her property taxes and utilities. She also has a gas leak that has caused her not to have gas in her home for a few years now. I have done all that I can to assist but with a limited income myself there is only so much I can do.
Is there an agency that can offer her some assistance so that she does not lose her home to a property tax sale?

Re: Property Taxes
Good afternoon. I want to know what kind of people can apply for help payment of property tax. I want temporary help. I have a baby of two months. I have no income, just my boyfriend's work and where we live is not an appropriate place for my baby.
Let me know what I have to do to get help while I look for a place to take care of my baby and looking for a job. Thank you very much for your response.
And if in a given place can assist, then that aid can always be deducted from future salaries given to me.

Re: Resources for property taxes for seniors
I am 68 years old and my husband is 73 years old. We are going thru so much hardship that is so impossible to deal with, We have two grandchildren that we raise since baby. One is 2 weeks old the other 1 year. They are now 10 and 13 years old, I also have my young son that lives with me he is not the father of my two grandsons.
My son is disabled and cannot work, the mother of my grandson is forbidden to see the kids. Me and my husband are all they have, I am also very ill as I have cancer, c.o.p.d and have to be on oxygen 24 hours. I have diabetes, high blood pressure, phibromalagia and more. My husband is okay but maybe some old age pains. Our Income for both of us is social security but it’s not much for 5 people. My Problem is that we owed taxes and water and we cannot pay them.
I called Star tax and they said that I did not needed to pay this tax and have to call them 4/16, I also owed city taxes about 2.263.00 and water 3,286.48 for just one year. We are old people who cannot work anymore there must be some way that they could help us, if not they the town wants our home is a very nice small house we don't owe any money on it and it is all we have
Please is there any way a program that could help us? I was told that we could qualify for no school taxes which we got. But the city taxes I still owe money on. What they do in my town is that they sell the taxes to whoever pays then and then that person puts a lean in my home and if in one year I do not pay the buyer Including 65% of the money that the paid, He will take our home.
I don't think this is right but that is why I would like to know what other programs are out there, I have heard that city taxes could be exempt for the elderly with low income and that are sick and have 2 kids and a disable son. PLEASE HELP US.
