Re: Propane tanks

Many people that use propane get their service from AmeriGas. Is that what your mom uses for her RV? If she does, they offer many resources to low income customers and the elderly. The assistance from AmeriGas has income and other qualifications that need to be met, but you can call and ask them. They may also have ideas on energy conserving refrigerators.

I need help getting propane because my two 80 gallon tanks are both at 20% full and I used my CAP fuel assistance already for this year for winter. I had no hot water for 6 months so it drained my propane for heating up water for baths, washing clothes, dishes, etc. and I need between $400-$500 to fill my propane tanks because I can't use my stove right now without propane. I am disabled and speech impaired and on SSI disability but all my money goes to mortgage and lot rent. I need help please.

I already received a 1 time grant to get 200 gallons of propane in December. I have a 500 gallon tank and I use the propane for heat, cooking. I have 2 stoves and am willing to trade for an electric one and heating water. Because of the cold, we have less than 10% left in the tank and no money to pay to fill it. I earned $20,000 for the year of 2013 with 5 part-time jobs. I am struggling to even earn that much for this coming year with my schedules becoming reduced. Is there any way I can receive assistance until the weather changes?

While you didn't say who your propane provider is, we know that Amerigas is one of the nation's largest. Is that were you get your service from? If so, they do offer payment plans, and in some cases direct aid for low income customers. Most of the propane programs are for residential customers, and find details on them. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... grams.html

I am currently renting a house in Oike county Pennsylvania. I need to have my propane tanks filled as soon as possible by combined energy and they are telling me I need to pay $610 in advance to fill my tanks. I am almost 8 months pregnant and don’t have that kind of money right now. I am wondering if there is any kind of help or assistance I can get that I can pay back. I need to have heat in my house as soon as possible. Please get back to me. Thank you.

I need assistance to purchase propane. The lowest limit that Holt gas from Sidney Iowa will deliver is 250 gallons and I was told it was around 450 dollars. My husband and myself are disabled and are on social security but we receive to much income to be eligible for LIHEAP but I am to broke and low income to afford to pay 450 dollars for propane so I was hoping to find some help to purchase the propane.

The house I live in uses propane for heat, cooking hot water, and clothes dryer and I have been trying to use everything with electric but my electric bill is now going from 100 dollars to 300 dollars a month and I am on a payment plan with them. I already have to make them two payments already. The house I live in don't have 220 v and its all a 110 v electric outlets so I don’t have a choice to cook or clothes dryer to use electric except hang clothes out and use a microwave and a toaster oven to cook on. I am using four or five electric space heaters for heat just to save the propane for hot water. Can you help me or send me in a direction that will be able to thank you for your time.

Good afternoon
I am wondering how and where I would go about getting assistance with propane. My daughters and I do not get any assistance through our state nor tribe, but I cannot seem to find anyone that can help me, due to not being able to afford the propane. We were not able to get assistance last year either, so we may be having another freezing winter at home. If you could please help me.
Thanks,

Propane or Butane to heat our home

Post by charlesSch »

I am married. We have 4 kids from the age of 6 -19. We are asking assistance in getting butane for our home. It is very cold now and is supposed to be cold tomorrow also. Our income isn't enough to cover all our bills so we have been without gas for a while. I have tried other places but they don't have the funds right now. Propane could work as well for an alternate. Any help would be appreciated in keeping my family warm. Please help in any way that you can.

We have a 16 month old and 13 year old. My husband is the only income and our rent just went up and we need help in many ways. Mostly financially and I am reaching out to see what we have available that could help us the most right now. We are on medical assistance through welfare, and we have a limited income. But we fall between making to much but at the same time not enough. It's a catch 22 and we don't even have enough to get propane to heat the house this winter. Is there anything we can do to help ourselves better our situation?

My mom is over 55 and lives in an RV in a trailer park. She likes to keep warm. She has been using an electric heater and propane for less than two weeks she paid over 35 dollars. She has little refrigerator too and her television. I don't know where we can get help with her electric bill. I think this month she is going to a pay a lot more she has been living there for over a month.

Hello,

I am having issues with Wegerski Propane who refuses to deliver gas to my residence. We currently do not have heat! I live with my mother who is disabled. She and I could smell gas inside our home. Wegerski propane has me down as a COD customer when I am supposed to be on a budget plan. In other words, they want me to pay $350 up front for them to make a delivery. I cannot afford to pay this. No one should have to go through what I am going through right now. It sickens me that this company is getting away with mistreating their customers. I need a solution this issue asap. If it was just me in the situation, I would tough it out. But my mother is under my care and I do not comprise her well being for anyone. I desperately need your advisement. If you cannot help, please let me know who can. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and any assistance you can provide....

Do you use Amerigas? We would assume so as they are the largest propane company in the US. if so, this company does have a variety of assistance programs for propane, gas, and other energy. Amerigas programs can be found here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... grams.html

I was staying with my mother with my two children, both under the age of 4. I moved out for a short time and sadly my mother became upset and neglected her bills. I had set her up on payment plans and sadly she did not keep it up. I am now back and she has had no electricity for a month and its very cold weather. Her bill is $1100, I have $800 and trying to see what assistance we can get. She also can get a propane tank filled instead if need be. We are a low income family and with my little ones we need it on ASAP. Thank you.

Hello. I am contacting you, as a totally disabled vet, whom needs help paying my LPG, and electric bill. In addition I am looking for firewood. I live with my full time caregiver, on a monthly SSDI of 1225.00. We have no other income, while we are awaiting caregiver assistance from the state. We barely get buy during summer, but the winter energy charges make matters dire. LEAP will pay a partial amount of LPG only, as it is the primary source of heat for our rental here in Oregon. The electric is going unpaid at present. LPG won't deliver until min order of $500.00 is paid up front. (Minimum of 200 gals plus charges, fees). Our tank is 400 gals which we cannot hope for so we will do 200 gallons get firewood and use electric space heaters on really cold nights. So if you can help/assist or refer us to any source of assistance please let us know. Our electric is past due up to 300.00 in total. Need about same amount to meet minimum delivery requirements on LPG which is the main worry. Firewood or propane would help to fill the gap if need be. I have documentation from Social Security, as well as medical testimony I am no longer able to work and require a full time caregiver. All this together with rent and bills leaves us impoverished. As well as any snow plowing help on bad days so we can get out our driveway. Please respond with any help or advice.

You have Operation Round-Up listed on your site, with an explanation that includes Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative. We should be listed as a separate utility such as New Enterprise or Adams. For example: Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative members and employees donate to the Member to Member, Inc. a fund that helps qualified members with paying electric bills. We do not participate in an Operation Round-Up, and do not offer propane. That is what is described on your site. Please contact me about this to get it corrected. Thank you.

We thought we replied to this already. Look into weatherization. Call your local veterans administration for advice on government and public programs. And also read about Idaho utility assistance programs that may help with heating systems.

Call your local VA and ask for referrals. They may know of some places. Also, while you may have viewed this already, here are the various Maine assistance programs for you. Heating units can sometimes be repaired or replaced, and ask some of these agencies about Maine weatherization. It is a federal government funded energy conservation program.
