Well, 22 year old with a kid (that he apparently can't afford) is not a good beginning for that newborn. So sad. At least there are some free furniture banks and clothing closets in the Minneapolis - St. Paul area. Unfortunately so many people have kids they can't afford - which is one of the foundations of the cycle of poverty. Look here for free stuff in that region of the Twin Cities. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... osets.html

Looking for free stuff in Twin Cities area
My 22 year just became a dad today. He asks his girlfriend to move into their new place today, which is about an hour away from the Twin Cities. They got keys yesterday and moved in bedroom furniture and what they had for the baby. He has his clothing and such packed up as the plan was for today. Anyway, we have given them a few food items that WIC don't cover as she has that. A few toiletry items to start. And a few of my extra kitchen items. But I just found out today they have no Furniture outside of the bed and crib. They will be 1.5 hours away from me so my help will be limited.
So the location is extremely rural in Pierce, MN. I tried looking online for any help in any bigger cities near them. I think they may have to get to St. Cloud or Brainerd for any help.
Can you connect me with any services for them? I know of many places in the Twin Cities but I have no way to transport for them at this time that far.
Thanks for any referrals you can give me/ them.
