I am 2-1/2 months behind in my rent. My monthly income has dropped dangerously low to about $900. My expenses are about $1200. My utilities are always receiving shutoff notices and I pay them just in time. I have the lowest standard of living possible . I do not own a car, TV or computer. I am contacting you on an IPad that was given to me using free wi-fi at the library. I have a $10 pay as you go cell phone. I am just not making ends meet anymore. I need help, mostly with rent. Thank you.

Pierce County. I have been on a medical leave and my short term disability has been denied for the last 4 months. I am behind on my rent by 3 months. I filed my answer to the courts for the eviction. So, it is just a matter of days. I'm back at work and just need some help to catch up. I am a single woman so, there are very limited resources for eviction prevention for me. any advice or help would be very appreciated. I am currently attending the Ready to Rent classes. But, would rather stay in my place now if possible.

My family and I are moving to a new house, and my husband has gotten arrested and now I have to come up with 500 dollars just to get my electric switched. He's going to be gone awhile and now I don't know what I’m going to do. I'm pregnant and have two boys ages 8 &10. I work for the state of Michigan so I only he paid once a month. The bill is in his name and I didn't know the bill was that high. I would have had the money but its all tied up in this new house. Please help my kids and I.

I’ve had loss of my income based on my son turning 18 and my nephew turning 18. I am in need of rent assistance for the month April coming up so I can spend what little money I have to pay for beds and furniture, electric bill that will be due. I recently lost my car. So, transportation has become a bit of a struggle. Please let me know if there's help for me in any way. Thanks in advance...will be greatly appreciated.

My rent for March is late this month due to me being unemployed. I've been waiting on my unemployment to come through for a month and a half now, and they still have yet to make a decision on my claim. My rent is $500/month, and this month, I am short $400. All I have left to my name is $100. I just got a new job, but it does not begin until April. Do you know of any organizations that can help me until then? If I'm evicted, I will be homeless. I have nowhere else to go. Please help.

It sounds like you are trying to do the right thing by working, husband looking for work, and taking actions like that. Also calling churches and other agencies in your region of Hampton Roads for emergency assistance is a good thing to do too. Unfortunately the demand for rent help is very high, and most agencies and charities have limited funding and/or waiting lists. Just keep trying. In the meantime, here is more info on Hampton Roads Virginia rental assistance.

Hello,
I hope I find the right source of place to get help. Currently, we are in being evicted by landlord due to non-payment. My husband needs mental help which I am trying to get for him in our state of Kansas and as a result we are closed to separation and eventually a divorce will be imminent. The whole family is counting on my as I am left to find help alone. My kids are 13 and 16 years old and school is starting in less than a week. The court hearing for eviction is due tomorrow and will see if they can postpone the hearing to a later date. Would appreciate if someone can get back to me on how to get housing as I have kids who are counting on me tremendously. Thank you for your time and looking forward to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,

Need help with rent ASAP

Post by Pantene »

Hello, I'm having hard time with my bills by myself because I'm on the government benefits. Landlord was asking me to pay little more on the rent which is that I don’t really have much money to cover for this rent. I am a single mother with two kids and one is on way. I didn’t have a chance to have baby things or help with bills. I live in White Hall Arkansas. I live by myself with two kids. I have lots of utilities to pay and house rent which I still owe half of balance. I really need their help and support me for this ASAP!

I live in Conway, Arkansas and I've been looking for help. I don't have a vehicle and my only income is a work study on campus. I’ve been trying to find another job. I have a past due balance for my rent. I don't know where to turn for help. I received my second late notice on the 17th of this month. Tomorrow I think I'm going to be getting evicted or going through the process. I live in the local apartments and my rent is now over $400. Please help.

I will be receiving and eviction notice from my Landlord today. My husband first had his hours at work cut down to only 15/week, then he missed two weeks work after having emergency surgery. This left us unable to pay rent this month. We do not have children, however, I am disabled and my husband has medical equipment. Can someone please guide me as to where I can receive a "one-time" rental assistance? My husband started a better job this week so this will be a one time need only. Please email me with any information you have that can help me. Thank You!!

We moved to Fort Collins for my husband's "full time" job but he was laid off with no notice on June 5. He worked what was to be a 4-month contract to hire starting on Dec. 3. The expected end date was May 15, but he finished his assignment thoroughly and ahead of schedule, hoping to be hired as an employee. But the employer laid him off before his contract ended instead. Since we anticipated a paycheck through the April 3 pay period, and use auto pay for bills, the sudden layoff caught us off guard. My account (household account) is over drafted, and our rent is due on April 1. We also, of course, lost our health insurance, and my husband and I are in need of continued doctor visits. But it must immediate need is help paying the rent and buying food. We have been through this many times since my husband was laid off in 2000 and out of work for 14 months. Since then, most of his work has been as a contractor (computer systems analyst). We already lost our home to foreclosure in 2010, my health is poor, and the stress is overwhelming. So if we could get assistance with the rent until my unemployment checks begin to come in it would lift a heavy burden from our already bowed backs.

I was wondering about housing assistance in Sioux City, Iowa. My son and I are planning on moving there this next weekend and will be staying with my son’s grandmother until we are able to find a place of our own. Please e-mail me back as soon as possible. Thank you.

I live in Louisville KY. My zip code area is 40211. I need help on my rent. I have tried a neighborhood place close by and they told me that I couldn't get help on rent until June. I've been trying to call places to get help but I need help on finding a for sure place. Everywhere I've called they either no longer helps with rent. Or can’t help because I’m not within their zip code area. Or any reasons. Please I really need help. I lost my job early last month. I no longer have a job right now but I’m still looking for a job. Please contact me by email.

Our landlord is going to kick us out of our rental home next week if we don’t pay 600$ that we owe. Well, we recently got into a bind with lack of income, losing hours, no work etc and we just need help. My wife has been looking for a job and still hasn't found any yet. We need prayers as well as a miracle. Please help somehow. Thanks a lot.

I am a stay at home mom of 2 children, all under 10. My fiancé is a cement mason in the local union here but has been laid off since mid October. His unemployment barely if at all covers rent, utilities, water/sewer, car payment, car insurance rent and phone. I had to borrow money to pay December's rent, am behind 2 weeks on rent for January - and am having trouble gathering the funds for it, and Aprils rent is due in two more weeks. He should be back to work by the end of March but this is nearly impossible to make any additional money to help.

I am in need of help to find someone or agency who can help me. My unemployment benefits have been exhausted and I am two months behind in my rent. Salvation Army won't help because I do not have a verifiable employer, Urban Ministry no longer helps with rent and I have tried my church, the only offer $200 and I need $794. On April 22, I have a court date for eviction, any advice or referrals you can offer will be helpful. If anyone else in my city or can use this help as well I will pass it on. We are living in trying times and I realize I am not the only person who needs help.
