Re: Can't afford gasoline and need help

Post by Admin - Jon McNamara »

Hi, you did noy say where you are (county/state, etc.) or where your mother lives. Obviously so many programs are local in nature. But use our general page to find help with gas and search from there. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... chers.html
Also, can you help your mom out? Even give a little money for her bills or gas so she can go on interviews or whatever? Obviously being 71 her options are limited, but if can help her with gas purchases try this to save money, the upside app. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... s_app.html

She is behind many months now. There is no threat to disconnect yet, but that will likely be coming this month.
I was wondering if you could give us some advice or suggestions on how she can find help or assistance to get a job, pay her bills and even get help getting a tank of gas for her Honda.
She has never asked for any help. She is 71 years of age. She was still working. I have tried to help as much as I can, but she really needs help from some nonprofit or government agency. We are hoping you can give us some guidance.

Re: Gasoline for a new job I start

Post by Jane Luv »

Hello! I’ve been doing my research and saw that Salvation Army helps with gas for my new job but can’t find where it’s at or even where to start or what the heck to do really. I got majorly hacked and my bank accounts stripped down I’m starting from fresh so groceries and money to love the vehicle for the cycle to even scoot to making money is a big need.

Re: Gas for methadone clinic treatment

Post by Denzell »

My name is Renee and I have a son named Trexton. We is recovering from a meth addiction. We have just had enough money to rent us a home and we have no extra for his treatment or gas to get to the clinic. I have food stamps and I live off of disability. If you could help with the gasoline or a ride it would be greatly appreciated. He has a doctor's appointment at the methadone clinic Friday and we don't have gas to get there if I can get a gas voucher please. Thank you

Re: Immediate Help for gas to go to work

Post by Sterner »

Hi,
My name is Christine and I am authorized to speak on behalf of my husband who need emergency help with gas for his car to get to work.
My husband works with the V.A.
Anyways, we had fallen upon some rough times and lost our home after 21 years. He was working odds and end jobs , etc. When Covid-19 hit he received unemployment. I was working at Kroger's for 6 weeks but injured my foot and needed surgery. Anyways the place we were staying didn't work out, Talbert House and V.A. put us up in a motel for a few months.
I briefly put our situation on a Facebook marketplace and a couple from Dry Ridge offered up there trailer for 400.00 a month. Its was roach infested, covered in black mold, the floors are rotting and when it rains we have several rooms that leak.
During the winter months our electric bills we were being charged for ranged anywhere between 300.00 and 400.00 per month. I worked 20 hours a week and we had one vehicle. We finally saved enough to get a fairly cheap car but that one died we kept having problems with the Tahoe, but now we need immediate gas money to get to said job. We finally had Doug and Cheryl all paid up through April and it seems like every time something inevitably happens.
Brian spends roughly a 150.00 a week on gas. If he doesn't work due to weather he doesn't get paid, so the gas will help him get to work
I have been communicating everything to Cheryl and even made arrangements to pay her a 100.00 a week since I had taken a new job that was 40 hours a week. I paid her 100.00 last week.
Now Brian was helping Doug doing side jobs when he asked and I asked how much he was going to pay so I knew how much to figure out for receipts for rent. We have never asked for anything on top he still owes for two days of where Brian worked for him till 1:00.
The water pipe in the bathroom burst overnight last Thursday night. We were going to turn off and fix when we got home from work, but was told it had to be fixed asap. That cost Brian a day of no pay. The pipe was Jerry rigged to begin with.
I unexpectedly lost my job on Wednesday, so now I have zero income, my son has Covid-19 and both my husband and I started showing symptoms.
My husband's boss's wife wants him to get tested. If he tests positive then that is two weeks of no pay. We will literally have no money.
I have applied to several jobs, and was going to file for unemployment but not sure if it can get it.
I was able to borrow 300.00 so as of now they are paid up through the month of May.
Doug did say he would accept a total of 1000.00 and call it even, I would like to get as much as I can for what we owe.
If there is anything you all can do or point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
I offered to help out on their farm which is what they let the last tenants do and allowed them to leave here rent free.
They also told us about 4 months after we had moved in we were responsible for maintaining the yard and there is well over an acre. We didn't have a mower or anything and had to borrow one.
The yard look like a hoarders nightmare when we moved in and we have cleaned that up as well as I got about 500.00 worth of flooring donated to me for the trailer because of how bad the flooring is.
Once again, anything you can do, would be greatly appreciated.

Churches will sometimes help substance abusers and people on methadone, regardless of their religion. Many faith based groups offer gasoline, clothes and more for people going to clinics. Find church transportation programs.

Gas for methadone clinic treatment

Post by Sarisk »

I’m writing on behalf of my friend Joel who is I’m able to send an email due to being legally blind. This has been the results of diabetes. He is currently removed and being given housing after being in hotels for almost a year during Covid. He is on the methadone clinic at habit OpCo in West Lebanon New Hampshire He now needs a grant to continue to get to the methadone clinic.
He has made all the changes he needs in his address and has applied for Medicaid rides which will take a week because of verification of the new address and area.
He was able to find a driver but has no way of paying them any gas or any compensation for bringing him to the clinic every day for the next week or a week and a half. The trip is approximately 15 minutes one-way 30 minutes round-trip. How does he apply to get a gas card or grant or voucher for this emergency circumstance and to get him to the clinic and enable him to keep his health well??
Could you please answer ASAP. I assume you encounter many situations that are time sensitive. As of tomorrow he does not have a ride that he can pay gas for.

If you need gasoline for work, and documentation in Los Angeles County, then try the Salvation Army. They often have vouchers, coupons, or other transportation programs. But they will need proof from you of the job and need. But find the agency here, Salvation Army Los Angeles assistance programs.

Moving when homeless not a great idea. As you just moved from one city to another being homeless. You need a job, income, etc.
Anyhow, as far as you need for gasoline, try the Fayetteville NC Salvation Army for assistance.

Hi my name is Justice and I'm in need of serious help and gasoline for a job we are starting. My sister and I just relocated to North Carolina because we've been homeless for a month now we came here hoping for better opportunities. Things are a little more affordable seeming as though we've ran completely out of money and do not have jobs yet because we have no gas in our car. We have no gas to do anything and how week stay that we paid for with the last we had is over on Saturday. We really need help since we don't want to be back on the streets. We've been looking for jobs and my sister missed her interview due to us not having gas. We are both 20 years old. We are just asking for some help of any kind and gas for the job she started. Thank you and god bless!

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: My name is Rene. I have obtained my Michigan Section 8 voucher. I just ported from San Antonio TX to Sterling Heights MI. I am in need of assistance to get there, such as a free tank of gasoline. I am completely without funds for food shelter security deposit and gas voucher. I have been in Michigan less than 72 hours. I am forced to go to my vehicle July 28th. I had been lodging at Super 8 in Sterling Heights MI. I am in need of a motel voucher assistance and money to pay for a tank of gasoline. Please reply upon receipt of this email.

Some charities may offer free gasoline vouchers near you. but yes, they will usually be for job or interview type reasons. And maybe some of a gas tank or one full tank...not much. But these vouchers are also very rare, but they may be possible.

Read about getting emergency gas vouchers for a job. I also have decided to go to rehab for reoccurring substance abuse outpatient. I lost my jobs and home and have no help but she said to get me in the program I needed to be there tomorrow for consultation. It's call Samaritan recovery in Nashville TN and I am staying in Athens, TN which is almost 3 hours away. I drive a small Honda Civic, which is good for commuting for work but so I don't think it would take more than $40 for there and back all together. Please help me.

My fiancé and I recently moved to Oregon and our trailer is in Prosser Washington and we cane to Prosser to move our home back. Our trailer was destroyed and our belongings stolen. So we got stranded with no gas to get home because we only planned to stay for a day or so and had to deal with the break in and our expenses were more than we expected. Please help us.

Dodge Durangos are very fuel inefficient and waste gasoline. Get a better car...that may improve your chance to getting to a job. But until then, for your short term needs, try a charity gas voucher program. While they are rare, sometimes they can help.

Re: Gasoline and money for bills

What a work ethnic in try to provide for your family. The construction industry is really growing, so maybe you can find work closer to home so you do not need to drive 100 miles. Until then, there are vouchers that pay for gasoline if you are working. But they tend to only help for short term needs, and we doubt they will offer long term support. So we suggest looking for another job closer to home to save on your gas costs, and hopefully the weather will improve over the short term.

I need help with a gas voucher. I recently found out I'm pregnant, so my boyfriend and I are trying extra hard to get stable again. I recently lost my job & been have trouble with making it to job interview due to not having enough gas. My boyfriend recently just got a job working at Sky Harbor airport but has to miss days already because we are having trouble with gasoline and need a card to help us pay for it. If we could get help with gas it would really make a big difference. Thank you.
