Re: I Need rent help

I am looking to see if I can qualify for some type of rental assistance. I am a full-time employee at the Syracuse Children Hospital but since 6/11 I have been restricted due to a medical condition for which I am still being treated. My limitations allow me to work only 6 hours/day every other day. This has put an undue financial strain on me and I cannot afford to keep up with my rent. I would appreciate any information that you can provide me.

Here are our resources and programs for Pam Beach Florida. There are some links from this to rent specific programs and services too. Water being turned off my be difficult, but more aid is offered for utilities and/or rent expenses in the region. Call the leading non-profit known as Community Action Program at 561-355-4700. Another place that help people of all backgrounds is the Urban League of Palm Beach County, Inc., can help stop and/or prevent evictions with information and maybe financial support.

If you are faced with separation of your family and children, then some rental and housing programs may exist to help you out. The city of San Francisco, as well as state of California and federal government have programs like the homeless prevention and rapid rehousing. These are options for families, low income, unemployed, etc. More on San Francisco rent assistance programs and services for the lowest income and those with children. For example, the Homeless Prenatal Program focuses on people with children. Dial (415) 546-6756

Re: Rent assistance in Pennsylvania

Here are places you can call for rent and housing help in Monroe County Pennsylvania. On the main site we also have details on free legal aid, so that way if it turns out you need to go to court at least you can have some legal advice too. Call non-profits in your area like the Stroudsburg and Monroe County Salvation Army at (570) 421-3050, and use the main site, in particiular links on left margin, to find dozens of other assistance programs, legal support, and housing aid.

I think those places you called our great, and you have done the right thing. However funding is limited from most agencies. You just need to keep calling, get on waiting lists, and plugging away. That is all you can do. We do have information on additional New Haven rent assistance, including places like Liberty Community Services, Inc. which can be reached at (203) 495-7600. They run eviction prevention assistance as well as provide housing stabilization services to people who need help during a hardship. Another may be New Haven Home Recovery, Inc., (203) 492-4866, which includes Fair Haven, Bridgeport, and other locations.

I have been back to work for two weeks now as of (8-8-11). I am in need of 3,076 to prevent eviction. My landlord has been very patient but I am facing a eviction any day now. DHS has denied my case and two other agencies (SOS and here to help). Everyone states (Salvation Army, Lighthouse, OLHSHA etc) they have no funds available.

I need help, working full-time and attending college full-time is easier said than done. I'm 24 years old and trying to maintain my mother's apartment together as she is sick with thyroid cancer and unemployed and my sister is away at college. I am providing for the rent of two homes, bills, and other necessary expenses. I feel horrible denying the great things my sister deserves, I didn't get to go away to school by choice and knowing my mom would be alone never sat well with me.To make matters worse, I just found out my insurance won't cover the emergency work needed for my teeth. Life is getting harder and harder. I never saw this coming.

So some non-profits and agencies will help pay for first months rent, security deposits, or other housing expenses. The federal government and state of CA have some government assistance programs too. Read about and learn more of the full list of rent help in Bakersfield California, and even the larger Kern County CA region too. Call places like the United Way of Kern County at 661-834-1820 for more information and referrals.

While we don't have the city of Damiansville listed on our site, the state of Illinois is. Find assistance with bills in Illinois. I think the one program that might be most relevant to you is known as the Illinois Rental Housing Support. They can help pay your rent in Illinois, and who knows, maybe they have information on who you can call to get support or funds to help pay for your move back to Ohio.

Traveling an hour with today's gas prices can get expensive quickly. Yes, government aid usually only for the lowest income. Look into Tampa Bay rent assistance, which covers the Hillsborough County area too. Try places like the Salvation Army Tampa Area Command which can provide extensive resources and assistance for the low to moderate income in the region.

I work full time and travel an hour to and from work almost everyday.I cant afford gas because my car isn't very gas efficient and i cant afford to buy another one. I take in about $1200 a month if im lucky. Government aid wont help me because they say i make to much while looking at what i make "Before" taxes are taken out. Could someone please help me before myself and child are living on the streets because no one seems to want to help us. Thank you,

Look into some of the Arkansas pro-bono law firms that also offer housing aid and advice. A listing of Arkansas legal aid programs and firms operate across the state. Call firms like the Arkansas Legal Partnership as well as Center for Arkansas Legal Services. Both operate across the state, and lawyers offer eviction prevention advice, landlord tenant issues, and other support. All phone numbers are 1-800-9 LAW AID

Do you look into any housing agencies in your town or state? They may be able to offer you section 8 housing vouchers. Or if the waiting list is too long then they should be able to refer you to programs to help pay the security deposit and/or first months rent. Here is more details on section 8, as well as a listing of the agencies that provide the help in each state. More on section 8 housing
