Hi,
You mentioned your utility be going up $400 as due to a faulty unit. Even if you get help with the electric bill, you need to fix the root cause which is the broken AC unit. Maybe LIHEAP or weatherization will help pay for it or a local charity near you have volunteer electricians who will help. My name is Angela. I was hurt at work in March and have not had a income of any kind since. My lights and water will be shut off at the end of the month. I've tried to do LEHEAP threw LaSalle community Action, but they will not take my application till next month and my utilities will be off. I have no transportation and no one to help. I have no place to go for my water to take a shower or to keep the lights on. Without utilities I will die out here. I don't know what to do. I've only got a few days to find some kind of help. Hi,
Great for you to look out for your friend. However if she has little, or no income, if may be hard for her to get help with electric, gas or water bills. As most charities, or even the utility or water company, will want to know the customer (your friend) can pay future bills on their own. That being said, there are many programs and look here for money to pay various utility bills.

My best friend is pregnant with my baby and is behind on her bills. She is 20 weeks a long and has an inverted uterus. This makes it dangerous in a work environment. Also she has disassociative personality disorder. She has applied for disability to pay her electric and water bills but in the meantime she has no income.

She lives in a rural area in Oklahoma so there's not a lot of help available.
Her doctor contacted the electric company to tell them of her disabilities but they said because she is on the prepaid electric plan a serious or chronic condition wouldn't be considered. The reason she is on the prepaid plan for her utilities and water is because she owed over $500 because she had the covid and just got behind. I live in Arkansas and am on a fixed income of $963 a month and my check is mostly gone by the time I get it. I've been using my savings to pay her electric this month but so far it's been over $200 just this month. My savings is gone. I can't pay on it anymore. But it's going to be shut off tomorrow. Please tell me what I should do?

I do not know where to turn to to pay my water and electric company debts. I had a brother that was living with me. He was responsible to pay the water bill and the electric bill. I was responsible to put oil and pay the tax in the house. He did not held his end of the bargain. I have so much bills up to my neck. I owed water bill and so much bills.

I have no power or water. I have been living in my house with no power or water for 2 months and 2 weeks and I am seeking help getting it turned back on. I was going to do it by myself but it took everything I had saved up for the down payment on my car cause my other car got stolen. And I need a car to get me back and forth to work. My water and power bill is 249.00 and now since it's been shut off they want 300.00 dollars deposit. They need this with the power bill.

I recently applied for assistance through turning points Manatee County for help with deposit to move into a house after being homeless for 5 months with my children. I found that my caseworker did everything that he could to not be helpful and offered to help with Power and Water instead of any help with deposit on my home in which I still owe money but now I am stuck with no power and water and have been out of work due to an accident.
I was toned by braces taxi. I have health issues my daughter and I are sick. She's five and any attempt at trying to reach my case worker has been ignored he is very unresponsive very unprofessional. I don't like asking for help I rarely go to any program at all to receive any assistance but I am desperate for help with my power if anything and I don't know where to go from here. If you can please guide me in the direction that I need to go that would be greatly appreciated. They case worker at turning points has received everything he has asked of me including my final notice from FPL and still will not communicate with me at all. Thank you for your time.

Since you still have money coming in the door (from disability and child support) then maybe one of the no cost loans may be an option for you. The money can help you pay water, electric, and other bills. Maybe borrow $750 to keep the services on them pay it off the next month. Just an option/idea for you.

I have a family of 3. One is a widow on SSDI. Another is a child 17 on Dad' SSDI who is deceased, struggling disabled 23 year old still on deceased also on dad's SDI. However SSA wants him off, got Habitat for Humanity to Help pay for Roof, paying off heat, very behind on water bill and electricity because roof leaked all last winter and had to use electric heaters.
We Can only get so much from LHEAP. SSA wants to remove 23 year old SSDI because he is working, dad had long term cancer. Really need help with water and electric now.

Good afternoon,
I am trying to see if there is any financial assistance funding available for my family with electric and water bills. I am going through a divorce and have lost that income now rely on my disability money and child support to try to make ends meet. I have been able to keep rent current and gas bill current and groceries.
I was hospitalized in June for 2 weeks and was already behind on electric bill when I got home the past due and current amount due was over $1,700. I called to see if they could work with me and they said that I had to pay $500 first and then set up payment arrangement. So I paid $500. In December and next payment was due on December 3rd $500. Which I also made and this week paid $200.00 next payment is due the 25th and another one December 3rd. Now another current bill is due for $400 and because I already have a payment arrangement they said that is due now too.
I have enough income to make a payment each month but because I couldn't make ends meet those few months I can't see how to keep them from shutting off and I have 3 children to worry about. Water bill is same situation past due $350.00 and want to turn off.
Please any information that could help my situation is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I don't know what am going to do. I'm a single mom working a full time job making 7.75. I don't get food stamp anymore and I'm trying to pay all my light as well as water bills and still have money for food. I need help paying my light bill but at the DHS office no one wants to help because I don't have 5 kids or on drugs.
