It's Washington State. And we can't postpone the move because our lease is up and we can't afford to stay anywhere.

Is that Washington state or DC? I can't believe the government is holding the money. Not right. Can't you wait until that time frame passes? If not, try this list for Washington assistance programs. Scroll midway down the page and select your county from the list. Some agencies will from time to time have funds to help pay for moving costs. Rare, but not unheard of. The money is usually for people who need to move or become homeless.

However, they are holding his check and will only release 80% of it 10-20 business days after his last day. But if it doesn't get to us by the 30th, we will be booted out of our apartment with no where to go. We hardly have any food in the house right now, and we are doing everything we can to try and earn money. But I'm just not sure we're going to make it. Any suggestions? We need about 800 for the trip to Michigan. All of our family is there, once we get there we'll be fine. Out here in Washington though, we have nothing and no one.
