Need dental care and can't afford it so what do I do?

The purpose of this email is to inquire about help dental stuff. I recently lost my job, and I am diligently looking for new employment every day. However, my bills have fallen behind and threatening to be cut off and my teeth need cleaning as they are achy. I have 3 minor children, ages 15, 13, and 11 that have not had teeth cleaning from their dentist in many months now. I recently was approved for SNAP, as well as, Medicaid. This is not permanent, has well also need help as soon as soon as possible, as my bills are high are I want to be pro-active on dental before it causes other more costly issues.

I am a senior at Troy University in Troy, Alabama and need help with dental or a free clinic I am starting my last term on October 11, 2024. I had a gastric sleeve on July 16, July 2023. I, unfortunately, gained a lot of weight back because of being put on thyroid medicine. I can deal with gaining weight. My issue is that I have had significant tooth loss, tooth decay, and teeth breaking off due to deficiency due to the surgery. My mouth is in pain daily. I can't afford a dentist and need help.
The tooth loss is very similar to what woman that is pregnant and experiences dental issues. I will start applying for jobs soon and will never get hired with teeth like mine. I never smile anymore and try not to open my mouth in public. I avoid people I know because I do not want to open my mouth. I'm looking at possibly relocating. My wife is a nurse and can travel nurse or get a job just about anywhere.
Funds are tight for us at this time because I am on total disability with Essential Tremors and a full-time student. I will be coming off of disability hopefully as soon as I can find a job. I am currently on a payment plan with a periodontist in Dothan, Alabama. The periodontist is Dr. Daniel Pittman, DMD. His phone number is 334-793-7232. I have to pay about $4,000.00 of about $9,000.00 to get the implant procedure. I have paid $600.00 to him and the $500.00 to my dentist that will do the teeth fitting. I know this is a long shot, but I wanted to reach out for assistance or a free dental program. I'm not asking for money for myself, but financial aid paid directly to the doctor. Forgive me in advance for the typos as I am almost not able to see anymore. I am trying to find out where one might go in our area to have a tooth pulled and get dental help. I have researched and contacted many dentists. My husband is 60 years old and we are both disabled. We are on fixed income and have no extra money. We barely are makin our bills. We do not qualify for medi-cal. He has the Obama insurance and that has a $6800 out of pocket. But doesn't cover dental. He is in extreme pain and needs dental help. And not able to eat or drink or sleep for couple of days.
I was trying to find colleges or somewhere. We are at a loss as to what to do.

I have had numerous teeth pulled because of my limited coverage and all they will cover is full Dentures. I have a tough time chewing especially on my top teeth. I am 42 year old woman, I have a few teeth at the top and at the bottom, I am hurting none stop with headache and swollen mouth, I do receive SSI/SSDI but my checks are 725.00 a month. I need serious help. I am now beyond need of needing dental work done but I have no insurance. I did have disability insurance through MO health net but when I was finally able to find a doctor who helped me I was diagnosed with sinus tecnicardia with my heart and chronic anxiety which don’t work well together. I also have ADHD.
So I wasn’t seen as disabled and I don’t have that insurance anymore but it didn’t pay for dental anyway. Then my husband got a job at Walmart distribution and then lost it so that insurance will be lost as well.
I have always taken care of my teeth and went through braces and now I’m 27 and my teeth are just rotting out in which is told to me by my grandmother to be genetic that hers did the same thing and that she had false teeth before she was thirty years old.
I have had them filled but the filling just falls out as my teeth decay and then I’ve been told I need them capped. I do not know what I need or who I need to talk to but I’m tired of being in pain and my breathe stinking and feeling nauseous all the time. I can’t eat for sure on one side and now I can’t even brush them. It hurts too badly so I use a wash cloth.

Since you mentioned you are a "good christian girl", then you may qualify for health insurance from one of their cost sharing groups. Many churches and Christian as well as Catholic groups are creating a quasi insurance product to help people of their religion. It can cover some dental needs...though it mostly will focus on medical bills. Find details on the Christian health insurance.

I was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and in 2006 I broke my neck, my back, both my arms had to be reconstructed. I have had 11 surgeries since my accident. I was told by the neurosurgeon that built my titanium neck and back that I would never walk again but I did it. I'm also mentally ill due to my father shooting himself while I was home alone at age 11. Also my sister hung herself when I was 23.
My mother attempted on several occasions unsuccessfully thank God! I'm unable to drive but my brother is coming to take me to the doctor tomorrow and the dentist on Friday. I have no money except my social security check. I have no food in the house either nor can I drive to get it. I have a friend who also lives here and he tries but has been out of work for over two months.
Our electricity is about to be cut off and our water was cut off last month but we got it back on.

I had a heart attack on Valentine's Day also. February has been the worst. I have one grown son and his wife just had my first grandson. I am not even allowed to hold him because they are afraid I will drop him. They won't help either because they can't afford it and live too far away. I was abused by my husband and have severe mental issues due to the abuse he put me through and the PTSD from the nightmares I still suffer from my dad dying right in my arms. When I broke my neck and back he scalded me in the bathtub then just left me in the tub and left for a week without even a goodbye.
I lived in Pennsylvania then because his job uprooted me from my hometown I lived in my whole life. My family didn't even believe me when I told them what he did to me. I got as many therapies as I could find and started fighting back against him. He was on drugs and alcohol so he never remembered what he had done to me. We were married for 8 very long years. I went to college at 39 and began to learn to walk again with all the pressure to get to class on time. I took medical classes to learn how to fix my numb leg so I could get away from my abuser and I didn't finish school but I stayed until I got well enough to leave him.
It took three years to get on disability so I had no money or a car to leave with. As soon as I got my first social security check I bought a car packed it full with me and my dog (he also abused her) and we left him returning back to my hometown Cleveland Ohio. I now am once again in a very desperate situation because my resources are so limited.
I live in a decent but small mobile home with a roommate. I am suffering with my teeth and of course my neck and back injuries. My quality of life is terrible and I'm practically bedridden. I struggle just to take a bath. And I need help desperately and immediately for my teeth mostly, food and electricity. I have a car but I can't drive because of the medications I take are narcotic. If there is anything you can do please contact me today or at the soonest time possible.

I have dental work that needs done and I don't have dental insurance and cannot afford to pay out of pocket. If I do not get my teeth fixed I'm going to lose them. I'm a single mom that makes too much to find help with mostly everything but I don't make enough that I'm considered low income. I need help finding programs that are right for me. Many health care plans in California do not cover dental needs. Or the patient needs to pay the majority of the bill. So if finances are a challenge for you, then call a free California dental clinic. They also help the homeless too, as they need good teeth as well!

Clinics can often pull teeth. We are not sure if they will have dentures or not, but you can ask them. Most of them are run by volunteers and operate as charities, and they also help the disabled too. The dental clinics may charge some small fees, so maybe they will take a portion of the $200 you have. But it depend on many factors. So try them first, and locate free dental community clinics for your upcoming needs.

Many residents of Alabama are still uninsured when it comes to dental care. IT may be as high as 30% of the state has no coverage. Those that do have insurance for it often have inadequate plans as well, that will not cover the entire bill. Try a clinic. They can often give free cleanings. Some churches in Alabama may offer have hygienists that volunteer to help the low income. But find a listing of free dental care sites in Alabama to try.

I live in McHenry County, IL. I have serious dental issues in my lower jaw. I am missing many teeth and the ones that are left are broken. I have infection at the base of all the remaining teeth, which is affecting my overall health. There are several clinics in your Georgia town. However the care is normally basic, and depending on your need that out of town referral may very well be legitimate. So feel free to try another clinic, but you may in fact need to travel. Find the dental clinics in Georgia.

I am seeking dental care for myself and my husband. We are casualties of the economy, having had various jobs with no insurance or just enough to get some dental work since 2009. We are older, and yet not old enough, and I currently clean medical offices while he is not employed, 61 years old and a veteran. It is sad.

At $200 of two to be Paul I'm never get available for that so I look and if you dental schools but thoroughly half priced in a lot of dollars is too much.
Dentures I'm not sure but I think they said $1500.
