Re: Colorado rent help

Post by Palms »

I am requesting emergency financial assistance to pay my rent and other expenses in Colorado. I am on SSDI but it’s not enough to cover all my expenses in particular rent and previously I didn’t have to pay rent because I was living in my parents’ house. However late last year the house caught fire it turned out to be an electrical short in the attic that caused the fire the city demolished the house since it was not livable, so I had to start paying rent for the place where I am living now. The house I rent belongs to a longtime neighbor when I told her what happened with my parents’ house, she was nice enough to rent me the house in back of the main property. I am requesting assistance to help me out financially thank you.
Sincerely yours
Steven

Hi, my name is Ada and I’m desperately needing assistance with rent for at least this month if not January as well. I recently moved out to Colorado due to personal reasons that I couldn’t stay in Florida anymore. I got a job out here but unfortunately I won’t be able to get paid until the 31st of December. I started work on the 9th which means my check for December will be half of what it should be. I’m behind on rent for December with about $950 remaining from around $2000. I’m requesting help to find any sort of assistance, because even if this month is paid I still have worries about next month rent + taking care of my son and buying groceries. Thank you

Re: Funds for security deposit in Colorado and first months rent

Hi,
I'm Lisa and could use a little help with my rent for first month of November and money for security deposit. I've been struggling due to an accident and have to go to physical therapy 3 times a week@ $30 a visit = $360 a month. With my rent, utilities, gas and food it's become hard to keep up with my bills in costly Colorado Springs. My SSDI of $1365 a month isn't enough and it has become extremely difficult to keep up. I'm looking for help and or guidance in finding the places that could help with me moving into a new place the the first months rent needed. I've tried a lot of organizations in the El Paso county area of Colorado Springs, CO.

My name is Lillian, I’m behind on rent for this month. I was wondering if I could get some help. I just started a job recently. I have 2 kids. I live in Colorado. Husband not paying child support no more has made it a little hard to keep up. If there is anything or any programs you could point me to I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you I’m advance.

Longmont Colorado, 80501.
I am 42 and Disabled. I'm on SSDI. I am making strides to better my life. I have recently been accepted to Walden University to finish my Bachelor of Psychology. My boyfriend just returned to work. We found and was able to put 300 towards the first month and security deposit. We currently owe $1475 by September 30th. I think we can come up with another $575. We would need $900 to secure our home for security deposit and first month rent. With his job, my SSDI and students’ loans that kick in in December we will have no problems paying the rent. We will be homeless and starting over as of October 1st if we don't pay this deposit. We’re making positive steps forward. Is there immediate help out there, grants? Thank You for your time.

We are in a transitional situation living in a motel and losing a job. I am having a hard time getting funds together to put down on a home. My husband works but his pay is low considering the rentals in Denver are so high.
I do not know what to do but our room is costing too much and we are getting down to the bottom of our checking account. We no longer have a car either and there are two diabetes and my husband having a blood clot in his leg. Wondering if here is help for us soon. Thank you.

My family and I just moved to the Apache Junction Colorado area, and are suddenly finding ourselves needing different accommodations than we had set up in advance. We were planning on spending some time at the Lost Dutchman State Park; we even have a very nice outfitters tent to make our stay more pleasant. We had arranged to spend some time with the only people we really know around here for a few weeks, then move to the campsite until my husband had earned enough wages to pay first and last month’s rent at a trailer park or something. I am actually disabled but unable to get disability yet.
Unfortunately, we have been surprised to find out that we cannot really stay here much longer, and my husband will not get his first check from his new job until nearly the end of July. So we need help with moving as well as a security deposit. I was hoping we could get help paying for two weeks at a non-electric tent campsite at Lost Dutchman State Park. We considered trying to camp on BLM land, but my disability ensures I need to be close to running water and toilet facilities, so we need an actual campsite. If you could find any way to help, my husband, three children and I would be incredibly grateful and forever in your debt.
If not, we understand--$200 IS a lot of money for a deposit, and I wouldn't be asking if we weren't desperate. Thanks for reading, regardless of the outcome, and if you would rather call to respond to my inquiry. Thanks again. Sincerely
Cuomo

I Need extra help for rent deposit to get me in my new apartment on housing by 12/29/2016. Also need extra help on my lights so I could start services and get it switched over. I live in pueblo Colorado and I and my spouse have been homeless for 8 months.
I was wrongfully fired as a medical nurse from a boring home. I have an attorney who is taking action due to the wrongful termination and sexual assault on me. Since I lost my job it's been downhill and hardship on us. I am overcoming the agony of us being homeless and struggles we faced. We have no extra help to get us in our apartment. We need urgent help please.
It's has been very cold living in our car. We cannot afford motels. We have no more options left besides to ask an agency to help with our rent and energy. We are ongoing counseling through the victims compensation program in pueblo Colorado. Please we ask that somebody in resources for extra help will look and understand our situation. THANKS! PLEASE CONTACT US.

I am 20 years old in need of help to pay my first month rent coming up in 2 weeks in Denver Colorado. I just recently moved to Texas from Minnesota and I’ve been here since August. I am living with my dad we shared a one bedroom and had a six month lease together, well the lease was up February 28th and I ended up spending over three thousand dollars on hotel, gas, food, laundry.
I also racked up a 2000 dollar debt on my car from getting title loans here and there so we could get by, we meaning me and my girlfriend and her little sister. They are 20 and 17 and they also recently moved here in August from Madison Wisconsin.
But from February 27th until April 7th I was in motel 6 and even had to sleep in my car a couple nights. I had to quit my job with ABM security on March 21st because I couldn’t afford gas to get back and fourth. I used my last paycheck and pay stub to move into my apartment that I am currently living in now and have been since April 8th.
Rent is due on the first in Colorado and I have now way to pay rent. I have been applying for different jobs but no luck so far. I applied and got approved for food stamps on April 13th, but it was one hundred and thirty three dollars. I need help with this months rent which is due on May 1st. The rent will be $435.

I have recently broken up with my boyfriend. We have a 3 year old son together and we are going through custody. I am not able to afford a deposit and first month’s rent all at once in Boulder Colorado. I have been paying most of the bills and due to my son's father not helping and not starting child support yet I just can't do it all. I have to be out of my place by the end of the month and can't afford a deposit on a place for my son and I. I don't know of anywhere to get help with this and have been doing everything I can to figure this out. Thank you for your time in advance.

That is great you have been given your friend in Denver a helping hand. It sounds like she does need that rental assistance if she has a 1 year old daughter. Have you also tried to help her find a job, or maybe practice interview with her? Those two things may also be beneficial, in addition to calling these Denver agencies for rent help. She should do multiple things to end the hardship.

I am seeking assistance on behalf of a friend who lives in Denver Colorado. She has a 1 year old daughter and is currently in a bad financial situation. She is seeking someone to help assist in paying the rent at her lodge for her and her child. During these trying times, I have tried to be a helping hand and stable shoulder for her to lean on but I, myself am unemployed and a college student; so I can't help as much as I want to. I would be greatly appreciate it if this program would help my friend. She deserves it and truly needs the assistance. She has been seeking jobs and been on many interviews with no avail. She needs your assistance and support. Thank you.

Funds for security deposit in Colorado and first months rent

Post by Jeremiah »

I relocated here to Denver, Colorado to make a new start after my youngest son went to live with his dad. I just found a real good job and I am supposed to start next Tuesday. I got a call from my sons father that he is going to ship my son back from Colorado Springs, which is where I moved from.

He wants to sever all of his rights. My son is 14. I don’t have any money to get him, pay for a deposit or move into a place of my own. I can more than pay for rent once I move into a place of my own. I just have to do it sooner than expected due to the situation with my son. I was trying to find some assistance to help me financially get into a place so I can have a place for my son to come. I am currently staying with a friend in a 1 bedroom apartment. Although he has been nice enough to get me stay there, I cannot ask him to allow my son to say there as well. It is just too much to ask and much to small. Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help. Thank you.

Was told verbally to vacate as i will 4 1/2 mos in arrears on rent on 8/1/2012 @ $600/mo. Need help - tried TANF in Denver on 7/19 but no response from local HHSC office. Unemployed from usual $38K yearly salary; appealing denial of unemployment benefits as employer stated I quit for not being able to commute to job transfer 60+ miles away. The terms of my accepting this job 5/20/2012 depended on public transportation. Call less than 25 miles was well stated on my hire date and agreed to by management who disavowed that arrangement without my knowledge & without notifying me. With no unemployment benefits, line of credit, assets, new job hire, or emergency government aid paid to me I have been reduced to begging. Single parent home with 4 yr old son who receives Medicaid. Receive food stamps 7th each mo at $256 per month. Landlord demanded $2100 balance in full by 7/28/2012 or must we find some place else to go asap.

In Colorado, rental assistance is offered to low income individuals and struggling families through local community agencies throughout Colorado, in about 30 Colorado counties. Contact a local community action agency.
