Re: Looking for a free auto mechanic in Atlanta

Hello. My family and I are looking for help to repair or replace the timing chain on our 2018 Chevy Cruze. Right now, we have my wife, daughter and I and my two young grandchildren living with us in Atlanta. My wife is a Medication Tech, CNA and Dementia Care Practitioner making between $19 and $20 an hour and has had hours cut back from her schedule due to census issues at her Assisted Living/Memory Care community. She drives around 90 miles round trip from Atlanta GA to Kennesaw daily. She works around 72 hrs every two weeks. I am retired on SS and make $1680 a month. My daughter (who suffers from behavioral issues) works fast food and brings home app. $120 weekly. We have had to deal with extra expenses the last few months and lack the money needed to pay for the repair. We need around $1,000 to have the car repaired. We wouldn't mind a low interest loan with manageable payback terms if available. Currently, my wife is driving my 2008 Ford pickup with high mileage back and forth, and I'm afraid that is going to limit it's lifespan. My daughter has no License and depends on us to get her back and forth to work. Do you know of any organization or resource we could use to get help? Thank you for understanding!

Hello,
My name is Angelia. I am 62 years old in September and live in Atlanta. I have worked all my life and find myself unable to pay my bills and to fix my car. The last two months, I have had emergency expenses that I have not been able to overcome. I found some extra work, but not enough to pay my past due rent.
I am employed full time, but can't seem to get caught up due to the auto repair expenses I'be incurred.
Can you please help or send me in the right direction?

Hello I would like to know if mechanics work for your organization. As some places in Atlanta promised to help me get my family's car repaired but they just gouged money out of me in fees. Not the mechanic won't return my money because I can't afford their fees anymore. We do really need the help but I can't deal with this stress anymore as their refusing to help me anymore unless I pay more fees.
If mechanics to help me really work are not affiliated with you then I guess I'm out of money my family could have really used and we need a different ways to get our car fixed.

Hi Helen
While we are not sure about a volunteer mechanic to put on the car parts you need to fix the car, the Salvation Army in Atlanta may be a good place to ask. They often have transportation services, which may include some funds to fix a car or more likely information on volunteers in the community that may be an option for you. Find the Atlanta Salvation Army transportation programs. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... sista.html

Looking for a free auto mechanic in Atlanta

Hi my name is Helen living in Atlanta. I am a senior and I'm trying to find some type of non-profit free auto Mechanic in Atlanta Georgia. I've went to a automotive school to get my car repaired. They told me everything that I needed for my car. I bought the parts once I got back to the place. They told me that they don't except parts and I have to buy their parts and get them to fix it. I can't afford both so I would like to know if you could give me some help with a free nonprofit Mechanic organization. I do have some money to pay for repairs but I can't afford what they wanted to charge me. Please read my letter and get back with me as soon as you possibly can with ideas on free volunteer car mechanics and thanks in advance.
