Need help getting used tires

I fall behind on paying rent because a month ago I was fired from a job then I had car trouble with tires bald and failing inspection.  Also, while I was driving on the freeway the tired of my car exploded, had to pay for tow truck and repairs of tire and brakes. I was doing Uber to get some money but it wasn’t enough to pay the rent or pay for new tires.

That seems like a lot of needs. Of course tire programs are rare, but seems you also have other needs with rent/housing, etc. Try a Family Center in LA. There is one in your town, and look here for help from Canoga park Family Center.

I was doing Uber to get some money but it wasn’t enough to pay the rent or pay for new tires.
I had to ask for a loan using my car as a collateral so I can pay the rent. 
I pay 1450.00 per month on 1 bed room apartment.  I'm a single parent with 3 kids - 8-year-old, 11 years, and 19-year-old.
I have paid so far 600.00 for this month but the manager gave me until this Monday to pay the full amount of 1450 before 12:00 noon. Or will send an eviction notice. And 4 new tires will cost at least $600. I currently have a job that I take a bus too.
  I have 1 month working there and I’m working about 50 hours per week.  I just need help to pay the remaining rent and to get my car fixed and help with getting new or used tires before Monday.  
Please help me.

I have been searching since April for a solution. In June the plates on my car ran out. My car will not pass inspection because I need tires and need help to get a set. Even used tires will work.

Hi Barbara,
That is great of you for looking for, and even being flexible too, used tires. But you also need to get your documentation in order, so maybe an auto repair grant will help you. I must have my car to get to work. If I can't use my car I lose my job, then lose my apartment because of no money. I have been looking for used tires with tread that will pass inspection. I really can't afford to buy them. I can't even buy food so I use the pantries.
On 6/9/24 I spent the afternoon with my bank to do a car and loan modification just so I can keep my head above water and keep my car. I've already been pulled over once and got a warning ticket at the beginning of July due to the plates and bad tires. Every time I see a police car I pull into a parking lot or street.
I'm going to be 58 on 9/30 and I am too old and have too many spinal problems to walk over 9 miles each way to work. Can you please find a way for someone to help me with my tires? Used can be between 250-350 and new 400-500. Size 225/74/16 Used would be great. If you know of anyone who could help will you please have them contact me? I live in O’Fallon Mo.
